Do you think more people will start playing Reach? Which playlist do you think will be more populated, Halo or Reach?
I’m hoping the population goes up. The TU will (hopefully) fix everything that people complained about.
It might go up again for a while. Many people have said that they would come back to Reach once a TU is released by Bungie(lol) or 343i. And since the TU will allow people to play the game like CE, with no bloom, faster speed, etc. we might see a rise in population.
Plus, the re-made maps will be a big boost, and the fact that CE:A will release is also good, because it’s an updated, classic Halo that people fell in love with 10 years ago, without all of the BS that they hated injected into it.
I doubt it’ll go anywhere to be honest. It’s had the most competition of any halo game and it’s only gonna get harder. It’s doing really well despite all of that though so I’m not really worried or care.
I mean people are actually still playing assassins creed brotherhood one year out. I’m not surprised because I think it’s bad but I thought people would just play it once and then be done because its not a shooter basically.

> I couldn’t have said it better myself. I mean, Bungie got it right in the Halo trilogy. Why did they mess it up now? What changed?
They brought in Sage and they let him do whatever he wanted with Halo because they were focused on their next new IP.
They got it wrong with loadouts and reticle bloom, the Halo community liked Halo because it didnt have those things it was a pure FPS that featured the golden triangle, Sandbox weapons/power-ups as pick-ups, and a more Arena style gameplay.
So far, the TU looks pretty good. Not so sure about the nerf’d Camo, but I think the changes to AL were a smart decision.
I’m noticing that everyone want every AL nerfed, since they know they’ll never be removed entirely. I really don’t understand why these people play Reach at all. Just play Halo 3. I’m not saying that as an insult. It’s just what makes the most sense for your style of play.
All in all, I can’t wait for the Bungie-bashers to realize that the TU isn’t going to be as revolutionary as they think. Bungie did an incredible job with Reach, and 343i is simply tweaking a few things.
It’s the Classic Playlist all over again. People absolutely swore they would play nothing else once it was released. And now? Population of less than 200.

The thing is though, I’m personally against most of the AA’s and I do think that just having no AA’s would be fine especially with the TU changes. But if you’re telling me to go play Halo 3 since it;s more of what I want, it’s kind of hard to do considering we have gotten used to Reach, Halo 3 has a low population, and I’m pretty sure shots registering is improved in Reach as well. And I personally don’t think there’s gonna be too much wrong with Reach when the TU comes and you are right that it’s nothing revolutionary but the tweaks are pretty major. Besides the classic playlist isn’t exactly as Classic as people would of hoped is my guess.

Lies and slander.
Discontinue please.

AAs were the biggest addition for Reach. Being against AAs is being against Reach’s style of gameplay.
Halo 3’s population is due to your thinking. “Nobody goes there anymore, it’s too empty”. PC gamers are used to sticking to their favored version of a game, why can’t console gamers?
They can’t do it because the console player base is comprised mostly of people who cant think for themselves. It really doesn’t help when you have someone who isn’t like that but has friends that are and would rather be playing with friends.
For the record I’m not picking up CE: A, not with my money at least.

I know what you mean but I do like Reach, just not all of the AA’s pretty much Sprint and Hologram are the only ones that don’t have too many problems. I played a game of Halo 3 the other day and realized that you are pretty vulnerable right when you spawn for lack of medium/long range weapon on AR starts. That’s why Reach is better, there’s a pistol that can do damage off spawn. This is just an example of what I mean.
“343 why you no xbox Live?” lolz.
So excited for the TU and cannot wait until it is released to us late September. This is when the community will truly be able to talk with intelligence toward the new TU and its gametypes/settings. Can’t wait till tommorows Halo Bulleting! Love you Bs Angel**!!!
Ok, I am now thoroughly confused by this Title Update business. Prior to HaloFest all the information I had, and the answers we’d been able to get out of people like Total Sellout pointed to there being 3 kinds of playlists after the Title Update; Playlists for Default Reach, Playlists for TU Reach and Playlists for Classic.
Now, there are more than a few conflicting reports from HaloFest, and I’d finally like to get a straight answer around here, because I honestly used up all my patience for half-answers and question dodging with Bungie in their later years.
We already know there is going to be Default Reach playlist AND a Classic playlist. The question is this then:
Is there going to be a playlist where we can play with TU changes like reduced bloom, shield bleedthrough, AA modifications and so on and so forth, or is the the Classic playlist with the God Pistol and DMR, No AAs and actually what you mean by the “Anniversary” playlist and will be the only other option?
I think a bunch of details on the TU is coming today with the Bulletin. Hang in there.
When Halo: CEA comes out, you’ll be able to play in either the “Default” Playlists or “TU” playlists.
All current default playlists should stay, ALTHOUGH, the classic playlist may be replaced by the TU playlists…
I’d like
- a new controller set up where Jump and AA are on the left and right bumpers respectively. That would be better than Bumper Jumper or Default for me.
- an extra sensitivity setting of 3.5.
- an option to choose a different reticule colour. It can be hard to see against the sky.

No Bulletin yet…

I don’t know. I could have sworn that the Armor Lock fix was for all play list meaning the whole game?

I assumed that the AL nerf was going to be universal…seeing as AL isn’t going to be in the “Classic” playlist.
That and it’d be -Yoink!- confusing if AL worked one way in Team Slayer…but then in a completely different way in The Arena…
I don’t expect bloom to be turned off for any playlist other than Classic, simply for the fact that a lot more would need to be done to ensure it didn’t break the game (imagine using the Needle Rifle, full auto, no bloom). Same goes for the CE pistol, just bolstering the pistol’s strength without altering any other part of the sandbox is a sure way to make it everybody’s ToD. I’m sure the Classic playlist will alleviate this issues with altered settings and a trimmed down sandbox.
As for the shield bleed through…that’s kind of a gray area. It wouldn’t “break” Reach in the slightest… but it would be enough to shift around player’s tactics. Only time will tell whether or not it’s universal.
The title update is extremely unnecessary in my option. Armor Lock dosent need a nerf. Its fine and should be a “glowing ball of invincibility”. I really need it to take blasts from Fuel Rod Cannons and Wraith Hadoukens, and then some. The energy sword also should be able to be blocked by weapons other than the sword itself. I can just see it now, people running with sprint lunging people. Gosh, this is worse than people with Commando in Call of Duty. Also Bloom is very good thing for Halo. Bloom adds another endeavor to master. It requires timing and skill for use and just because people can’t master it dosent mean to remove it. I miss Bungie already because they never tried to fix something that wasent broken. -_-
