BR spread was bull and as was bullet travel. Hit scan should have remained from H2.

True, but I’m talking about general gameplay mechanics rather than networks issues, especially since both of those things have been addressed already with Reach having no bullet spread and Hitscan enabled UNSC weapons.
It will be as if Reach is actually competitive now, and your skill matters! Its a whole new experience! To me its like a new game is coming out because Reach isn’t Halo the way it is now.
I hate when people categorize any changes to make Reach more like an actual Halo game as “then it will be H3.” It will be most like CE, hence Halo CE Anniversary. Don’t you realize no bloom and shield bleedthrough were in the first 3 Halo games? So if you add those things to Reach, it becomes H3? Wrong. It just becomes Halo.
Also, if you paid any attention to what 343 has been saying, mainstream Reach will be unchanged, so you can play your unbalanced, un-Halo mess of horribly slow-paced and noob-friendly gameplay in Reach.

This.
Good to hear, I might actually play the horrible game now.

You do realise that statement is false, especially at the very end? CoD did a massive overhaul of its gaming to compete with Halo3 with Modern Warfare. You also forget how BF:BC2 is a VERY different BF game. Much in the same manner Reach was intended to be from the Halo trilogy.
BC1 and 2, plus MW, WaW and MW2 were released within the time Halo3 was out. Something “new” is what the waters were being baited with all along." CoD’s popularity shows that indeed, gamers wanted something different. As far as what Halo players want. You’re right, those that are content with 24-7 Coagulation/Midship/the Pit with BRs don’t care much for change.
lol, I kinda get where your coming from, However “Playing Reach for Graphical Improvements” Just means you need to get the Hell outta here xD
I (no offense to you intended) despise people who play for how great a game looks,
IMHO
Gameplay First,
Graphics Last.
…
…out of a top 5.
Well, as long as I can still play Reach the way I like it, I’m fine. I might try out the stuff in the update, but I don’t want it to change my opinion on the game.
God, I hate being the minority. I can’t be the only frequent player who likes it as it is, am I?

I have no problem with innovation, I don’t think that many people here do either. The problem was that Reach both innovated a tad too much, and its innovations were implemented poorly. For example, there is a mechanism that one spawns with that they can use to cheat death. There is also reticule bloom that doesn’t affect accuracy nearly as much as it should. Forge 2.0 was…cool, but it suffered from a big strain on resources and fatal glitches and bugs. Halo should innovate in baby steps, not do “The same thing for three games then BANG! Innovation.” A cool feature here, a new game mode there. Granted, I still find Reach fun. It just tends to frustrate me a fair bit.

Well said.
You can’t lead your shots with the bloomless DMR, so how will it be the same to use a BR and bloomless DMR?
You’ll still have default Reach, don’t worry.

Yeah, I also liked the way he said it.
Anniversary with TU will will bring Halo gameplay to Reach, however Reach gameplay is still avaible.

But again, I disagree with your support. It was the same thing for 2 games in a row, not 3. The copious amounts of aim-assists, changes to melee (lunge added, momentum removed), weapon damage/dual-wielding/a burst-shot weapon, fall damage removal, health regeneration, jump height, vehicle boarding and destructible vehicles greatly changed from CE to 2.
The change from 2 to 3 was minor IMO. And because of this, many players forgot just how much of a change 2 was to CE.
I won’t disagree that babysteps should be used. It’s why I was ticked off with Halo2’s gameplay changes. See above for an incomplete list of them. But Reach isn’t a huge step game. It’s a 2-step game. And 1 step is completely optional. Now both steps are completely optional. Reach isn’t all that different, if at all, from any Halo game beyond the 2 steps that after the TU, both are completely optional. Reach isn’t drastically changed, it just doesn’t allow for nearly exact previous gameplay yet.
And that’s ok, it’s coming.
As I’ve said, I personally want to see what Reach would be like with just the shield popping remaining in a gametype, but every other change implemented. You know? A babystep comparison.

I was talking about not straining from the core experience, even if Reach was trying to be “innovative” or “fresh” they should always have had an option to play it like other Halos. But instead Bungie shot this turd at our faces and told us to like it. I would have been fine if they catered to the entire community at launch instead of just the casual fans that they were targeting to sell to.

It is yet to be announced whether or not the bloom changes will be on just the classic playlist ,or all the playlists, i Highly doubt they would just make it for one playlist.

The thing i the changes from CE to H2 made sense.
Spartans can hold 2 small weapons…makes sense
spartans can jump on a car… makes sense
lung was added for online play
hit scan… also for online play
health packs and fall damage IMO were not bad but could be seen as slowing the game down, either way they were not fundamentla game changes ie movement or shooting
Reach changes that everyone complains about drastically changed the basic way the game was played. Halo was always simple point and shoot…that changed. In halo younever had to push a button to just run… now you had to plus it helped runnign away, double beatdowns, made cqb weapons OP and changed how maps were designed.

This makes sense, because everyone on the MLG forums are very happy with Frankie for what he is going to do with the DMR, so I think that Frankie will also remove bloom for MLG.
But that might be it.
You mean B-LT-B wasn’t OPed for the AR’s double beathdown in CE?
We also didn’t have the technology or the time to implement the things that are present in Reach way back in 99’-2005. T
Again, no worries, the option is there for you to tweak.
PS: Claiming dualing made sense as Spartans can do it, by that reason, bloom makes total sense as ROF and barrel heat are weapon management skills even a Spartan must use.
