Title Update Discussion

> What’s bleedthrough

If you are shooting someone with an assault rifle but their shields are not empty, if you attempt to headshot them, instead of the headshot weapon doing it’s max damage, it will just lower them to no shields, resulting in another headshot to be required.

Same for melee, shooting someone until they have a small amount of shields then meleeing them wouldn’t do max damage but instead take their shields out and result in another melee, it’s pretty much confirmed after watching the Beaver Creek Gameplay & Damnation Gameplay, it seems bleedthrough will be an option in the new gametypes coming with the Title Update.

I know that bloom is being removed from the DMR,(I think it’s only for the classic playlist though) but will there be Spread like in Halo 3 or will it be pinpiont accurate.

It’s hitscan, it’s pinpoint. As soon as your shoot your bullet, it will go where you aimed at (instantly in fact). Bloom decreases the accuracy the faster you fire it.

Without bloom, shots will actually land now. Halo 3 you had to lead your shots with the BR due to connection and how targeting/bullet mechanics worked.

I dont know how they dont bring back the TSK pistol with the HCEA its not CE multiplayer without it. it wasnt unbalanced in the original because of the low aim assist and all around powerful weapon sandbox, but with Reach’s higher aim assist and huge hitboxes it will be a challenge to fit in. The Reach magnum actually has the lowest autoaim of all the weapons in the game, so it actually could work and I think alot of people feel it wouldnt be the same without the pistol. I would rather see the Reach magnum tweaked to be be like the CE pistol rather than the DMR as the starting weapon in the classic playlists as it is the more skilled weapon and its a pistol lol.

Alright so quiker kill times right?

Yes, quicker kill times, if you haven’t seen the Damnation Gameplay, I advise you do, it shows how fast a DMR can kill with no bloom.

I only saw that one DMR on the map I imagine it will be a power weapon in normal MM.

Pretty much that’s what we’ve seen so far from the Damnation video. Keep in mind that is not the final product of TU. Things are still being tweaked and the DMR doesn’t have a fixed ROF (Rate Of Fire) it might be OP. Then we also don’t know about the Needle Rifle and the Magnum being bloomless too.

All in all, i am excited for the TU. Can’t wait to see more. Faster kill times ftw.

False, the DMR will not be featured in the Classic Playlist, the DMR was not in Halo 1 or 2, which are were the remakes are taken from.

It will be a Custom Game option.

> I only saw that one DMR on the map I imagine it will be a power weapon in normal MM.

Nope, because it will still have bloom in normal MM like it has now.

Has that been confirmed? If so, where is the source of the info? I must know. And yes, I did see the Damnation gameplay.

Well it’s common sense, the DMR was not in Halo 1 or 2, therefore, plays no part in Classic Gameplay.

The Damnation Gameplay was on a variant of it called ‘Penance’ which is the Vanilla Reach variant for default Reach gameplay, I am going to guess that is was a Custom Game they were playing which says that you can play with no bloom and bleedthrough enabled in customs.

I genuinely worry about whether ill play reach much now they’ve changed it to be halo 3 clone.

the population will divide (Classic/hybird/vanilla) and there isnt a decent ranking system in reach. now the only reason for me to stay on reach is… well, the graphical improvements.

all the changes from 3 to reach justified me playing both 3 and reach because of the two different gameplay mechanics. now its so similar i may just stick to halo 3.

(please note i am only basing this on recent gameplay footage and i HOPE i am wrong in my assumptions here…)

Jumping the gun a bit bro, I really think it will make gameplay a lot better/Faster. It will feel like a new game.

YOU CAN STILL PLAY DEFAULT REACH.

From this point on anyone who makes a " I don’t know if i’ll be able to play Reach after the TU " thread are just trolling.

I would not compare it to Halo 3. More like halo 2 because this game is hitscan.

Just lol…

This is how Reach should always have been.
Can you imagine what people would say if Unreal Tournament suddenly transforms into a slow paced Battlefield game?
I highly doubt anyone from their community would welcome this.

Never change/touch a running system. Halo 1 was ok, Halo 2 was ok and Halo 3 was ok. People loved it for years and would always love it that way. But people hated Reach. No one, absolutely NO ONE asked for changes in nearly every way. What was Bungie thinking? “Something new” what hasn’t been done by games like…ehrm, let’s say Battlefield or COD?

Thx good 343 fixes at least some of the things Bungie ruined with Reach.

If it aint broke, don’t fix it.

Halo 3 wasn’t broke.
