Title Update Discussion

my -Yoink!- are already wet for this damn TU

i just can’t wait to say ADAPT when all of the bloom/AL defenders start whining about the TU. It will prove that halo reach was catering to the bad kids and they didn’t have to adapt; that halo reach adapted to them. now when they can’t adapt because they have no skill, we get to watch them squirm.

Like I said in my earlier post, show no mercy once the TU hits. Because you know casuals are going to be ‘testing’ it out to see why everyone left their playlists. We will laugh as they go -15 EVERY SINGLE GAME. And then they will come on these forums and … do what they do best, whine.

Take away the crutches and all you got to prop yourself up is yourself.

I don’t get it why everyone is so mean here (oh wait it’s the internet it makes people bad XD.).

But finally we have playlist to those who enjoy competitive games and the old Reach is good place for those who are not so good or competitive.

Still I am going play Invasion and BTB but after this TU if I go to 4 vs 4 I am going to choose this Competitive Playlist.

So, these changes will definitely not be custom options?

Gentlemen, this is all the TU news you need…

NO MORE BLOOM YES YES OMG YES OMG!!!

And end.

When is the TU comin out man, i wanna play the GOOD Reach :(???

DMR with no bloom? none at all, why use any other weapon? hell the sniper will be redundant. This cant be the case, they must have nerfed the dmr somehow.

You speak of the people that like Reach as if they are a lesser species of life, as if they have no comprehension of past Halo games. I got Halo 1 for PC a few years back, loved the online, and I got Halo 2 a little bit before Halo 3. I loved the story, but didn’t play much multiplayer because Halo 3 had just released. It’s safe to say I loved that game to death. So much matchmaking, so much customs. And so much balance to boot. When Reach released, I judged it and found that I liked it. It’s true it was different, but I liked the return of health, and the implementation of bloom and Armor Abilities. The mere fact that I didn’t start with Reach should not disqualify me from finding it fun. Nor should it mean that I would automatically prefer a return to the way things were. Nor should it mean that anyone else with a similar story should be stereotyped as such.

I can play the TU changes and prove that Bloom/AA’s ect ect… was never the issue haters made it out to be, but if I do play there I’ll inadvertently be telling 343 it’s okay to roll this change I actually dislike out to the other playlists.

What to do, what to do…

TU’s not even been released and already a disatified customer O_o.

I’m Not dissatisfied. Im just worried. With the DMR buff, what will happen to the other weapons, Will they not need a buff also.

1 - DMR needs a nerf to counteract the buff… It Needs RECOIL.

But i don’t have the Update so i can’t say anything yet.

You just simply tell them: I like/love both ways to play and now that I’ve played both variants so closely together, this is what I feel:"

Don’t react too quickly to spikes in anything. Let the waves settles themselves. You’d be surprised how many times I’ve read “I’m leaving Reach for StarCraftII because it’s more balanced.” And right now “I’m back to playing Reach because the Zerg are too strong at the moment.”

Let those players think in the extremes, just don’t let them impose their views on others

If I had MY Halo, we’d all have slightly higher jumping (only 5%), slightly faster movement (5-10%), AAs, no bleed-through, fall-damage, health packs, less influential bloom, slightly faster ROF weapons than now, keep the vehicles at the damage resistances. So as you can see, my Halo isn’t either Halo being offered at the moment.

We’ll have to wait and see, You can’t balance an entire game on paper you know, somethings sound right on paper, but when you playtest them sometimes they simply don’t work.

To this day I doubt that the title update serves only to satisfy the community of Reach. When 343 was making Halo Anniversary, they announced that it was made with free time and people not devoted to Halo 4 or any other project. And it was made with a deadline so that it would honor the tenth anniversary of Halo. With this in mind, adding a seperate multiplayer component would be difficult. Not only that, but it would divide the Halo community into three games (CE, Reach, and 3). With that in mind, they decided to bring it to Reach. They have announced several time why the title update exists: “To provide a classic Halo experience to go along with the maps we’re releasing”. Were they out to satisfy the community, other things not pertaining to a “Classic experience” would receive attention. But they’re not.

LOL, that’s what was said about Classic.

Remember the Title Update discussion thread where you post your top 5 changes? the majority of people posting didn’t like the bloom mechanic on precision weapons, that is a clear indication, “Proof” if you will that the bloom mechanic was not ok.

Well I’m not going anywhere, apparently I’m too casual to quit Halo (whatever the eff that’s supposed to mean…).

But when Frankie says (to paraphrase) “if these changes are popular, we’ll move them out to the other playlists” Then that puts a player between a Rock and a hard place.

Forget weapon balance or the definition of “classic Halo”… I like Reach the way it is. I wouldn’t mind trying the changes, but if I try the changes, will they be rolled out on to the other playlist, simply because Classic has a decent player count?

I’m not “dissatisfied” with the TU (how could I be? I haven’t played it.).

But to make an (extreme) example: Living Dead is such a popular playlist, we need to add more sword and shotgun to everything, we need to remove swordblock because it’s such a problem on the LIVING Dead playlist.

Seems like a logic error, or something just isn’t clicking with me.

I could very well LOVE the “Classic” changes this TU brings to THOSE playlist, that doesn’t mean I want them rolled out EVERYWHERE, or even ANYWHERE else.

Make sense?

It’ll be utterly hilarious if 343 puts out the bloom less playlists and they only pull in a few thousand.
