Reach needs to be fixed. I wish the title update would change the whole game. I’m extremely disappointed it is not going to encompass everything.
> Reach isn’t change and innovation. Reach is gimmicks and abandonment of their old fanbase.
>
> Halo doesn’t have to completely rewrite its gameplay formula to innovate. Why people hate Reach is because it wasn’t a Halo game. It didn’t feel like a Halo game, it didn’t live up to the standards of a Halo game, and it certainly didn’t follow the guidelines and rules of a Halo game.
>
> Innovation isn’t just invincibility buttons, sprint, or jetpacks. What happened to game mechanics that actually added depth to gameplay, instead of dumbing down certain elements or giving players a crutch to lean on? What happened to dual wielding or vehicle jacking?
>
> What I see in Reach isn’t innovation, it’s rewriting a perfectly good Halo formula and pooping on the old one.
You have literally failed in every way to read my post and comprehend its meaning…
I was discussing the future of Halo. If 343i’s is only going to be focusing on copying Bungie, what possible creativity and innovation can we possibly expect?
How can you honestly expect anything besides Halo 3.5 if the Title Update is ONLY catered to the Classic playlists?
That’s what I’m talking about. The message they’re conveying to the community if the complete focus of this Title Update is to copy Bungie. And the message is, “Hey guys, we’re not going to do our own thing, we’re going to just copy Bungie’s ideas and never do anything different! Don’t you just love rehash games!”
All of that unneeded hate of Halo: Reach literally has no place in my thread, but it seems as though you’ve been saving it up waiting to say it, so now that that’s out of the way what do you think of 343i’s only making an update for Classic playlists? What kind of a message does that send to you?
> Wait and see. It’s all you can do if the new bulletins just aren’t clear enough for you.
>
> It does seem like 343i is looking to establish two totally different types of experiences on Reach, though. There will be playlists under the “HALO ANNIVERSARY” heading that will pull people who were fond of Halo’s earlier instalments (2 and 3) and then the Halo: Reach playlists that people have already experienced. Also, I hope they change up the Reach playlists even a little bit (say, add some new, unique ones) if they’re going to use a large chunk of the TU to cater to veteran Halo players.
>
> Whatever they decide to do will be fine with me and I’m sure it will attempt to feed the crowd of insatiable gamers known as the Halo population.
I do agree with that aspect. Whatever you do to a game, whatever possible scenarios there are, there WILL be players from past games who don’t like those changes. And providing a limited set of Classic themed playlists with the customizability of Halo’s game engine is a fantastic idea. Like 5 major playlists in a Classic category that have a mix of all the gametypes, but stick to the basics. I love this idea.
The Weekly Bulletin’s just haven’t been answering enough questions, and every single one of them have solely talked about the Classic/Anniversary playlists. Sure, we got a random picture or two that MIGHT have been hinting at default Reach changes, but all in all it’s been very bleak.
Halo has been all about not alienating one player base from another; just look at how they’re doing Halo: Anniversary. They used Halo: Reach’s engine to not split the player base. Look at how they don’t require DLC for all the playlists except for the DLC playlists. This is to not split up players.
But if this Title Update is truly only for the Classic playlists, it’s a HUGE slap in the face to every player who enjoys Halo: Reach but would like some tweaks and improvements. Which I would like to believe is a very large chunk of them. Especially those who have went against a skilled Banshee pilot…
If one of your biggest issues is the banshee I lose respect for you as a player. Yes, the game needs fixed by that is the least of our worries.

Does anyone have reading comprehension anymore? His post was in regards to a lot more then that.
Remove bloom for Classic. PLEASE REMOVE IT…
If we at least have the options to make Reach exactly like Classic Halo fine tuned, and Classic playlists to play these settings in matchmaking, I can deal with the rest of Reach staying the same.
Just dont make Halo 4 the same as Reach… please dont

We share the same way of thinking
Anyone else like me think the Needler should be nerfed? It’s way powerful in Reach and really should be taken back to the strengths it had in Halo 2. The Reach Needler is just a point and shoot gun with minimal skill, yet J.H. + S.M. probably giggled in unison while holding hands when they coded it into the game.
In short, it’s stronger than ever and has very fast kill times.

Why only for classic? Bloom is the downfall of Halo: Reach. They just went in and messed with the core of what Halo Multiplayer was as an attempt to be “new” and appeal to more fans. They failed MISERABLY. Make it to were it can be Toggled off & Reduce the effectiveness of it. Someone can just spam the hell out of people and think their good, when true players actually try to pace. Randomness and lack of competitiveness. Fail.
> > For me Halo 2’s multiplayer was easily the most enjoyable. I agree the Pistol was OP but the 4 shot BR(minus the glitches) from Halo 2 was the most fun and made the game fast paced.
>
> I dont feel Halo 2 was more fun… especially when you factor in back then Halo 2 had little competition and thus it was REALLY one of the ONLY games to play on XB Live that was worth a crap… … no one else had a service that touched XB Live ( even though its still better then PSN ) and back then none of the games were really that good ( talking about multiplayer online gaming ) …

> I had a program you could downloaded to Windows XP that manipulate you to be host in Halo 2… it was a program anyone could download and get host advantages, plenty knew these programs but the majority didnt know… Things like ‘Super jumps’ were fun in Halo 2… but to most people who didnt know how to do this - you were cheating… Halo 2 was the easiest Halo to cheat in… and thats why I say towards the ends of Halo it was a game simply littered with cheating and really no longer fun…

> I also have felt that some of the complaining about the ranking system in Reach is legitimate, but some people got RICH from boosting in Halo 3… there are ( or were ) many PRO Boosting websites during the Halo 3 heydeys… and some of those websites had many people on their staff… So some of that complaining is simply people who are upset they can’t make money from boosting - whether it be cash or kids who boosted for XB Live points or boosted for XB Live memberships …
I rather have a ranked playlist with derankers and boosters than play reach wich is not competitive at all. JVMO
> To Coca Mola above, I didn’t put my foot in my mouth - I was cross-posted from another forum with no context for the discussion. I was replying there, as I would here, to. Reach fan who was worried that the TU would eliminate the elements of Reach that he liked. It won’t. The TU will allow ‘classic’ gameplay to be played side by side with TU stuff
But will I be able to play on the CEA maps using “normal” Reach rules, or will these maps only be available on special playlists that use “classic” game elements?
I dont know and id like to know. lol
It’s been strongly suggested that bloom and fall damage will become optional.
> It’s been strongly suggested that bloom and fall damage will become optional.
UHG… It’s been STRONGLY “SUGGESTED” that they will be playlist dependent.
NOT “optional”.
