I don’t know it just seems like, to me atleast, that people would rather play a new game than an old one with a new coat of paint.
I’ll still play Reach whether or not it’s a good TU. I’ll probably switch between that and GoW 3. Horde mode
> I’ll still play Reach whether or not it’s a good TU. I’ll probably switch between that and GoW 3. Horde mode
Yea, I will probably do the same.
Reach will have to take a backseat to Skyrim. I probably won’t even pick Reach up until sometime in the spring. It gets boring fast for me.
The TU hopefully will make me play REACH a lot more…
> Reach will have to take a backseat to -Insert Games-. I probably won’t even pick Reach up until sometime in the spring. It gets boring fast for me.
I might do the same unless the TU is any good.
> Sorry. I buy my M rated games in hopes it’s not littered with kids that have bad parents letting them play these games. They always scream, cuss, and betray everybody. It’s annoying.
i’m 13 and never use game chat only cuss at fanboys that live in their basement and almost never betray
> I put all my pay checks down, that not one person, will pick anything other than Slayer Pro forever. Lol just saying.
I’m older than 17 and I don’t pick Slayer Pro. Just saying.
> frankie i have one good question for you, will we see an kind of changes for the TU that are implimented somewhere else besides multiplayer, like campaign, firefight, custom games, forge, and or theater?
Yes, Frankie… I was also wondering the same exact thing. Since the playlists will have the changes in them, how will we be able to play custom games, firefight, or campaign with the Updated weapons and various changes your making with the Title Update?
My hope is that Reach is Title Updated across the board just how Halo 2 was Title Updated and all the weapons changed. This is the entire point of TUing the game to change the default mechanics to something totally revamped and new and able to play in custom games and on LAN whenever you want.
Not trying to sound like a suck up here guys.
Frankie has stated numerous times that people should stay tuned if they want to know what is what. They want to make sure that everything that they want to change can be implemented without any glitches and they will release in the coming weeks what they plan on implementing. Instead of making ourselves miserable, the best thing we can do is wait.
-
Is the title update going to universally change the game or just a halo combat evolved playlist?
-
Why doesn’t 343 release part of the game fixes before november?
-
What does the ps quote in the title update mean?
-
Seemed pretty obvious to me. It will be like two separate playlists. One for people who want Reach playstyle and one for people who want a more classic style.
-
The part I read said ‘significantly before November.’
-
It was in regards to the camping question above it.
Frankie has said that they’ll have a classic way to play alongside Reach’s gameplay.
Well I’m starting to lose a lot of hope with this Title Update… it seems as though with the most recent Weekly Update (Screw bulletin!
) that it’s going to be solely focused on the Classic playlists and won’t be changing anything with the default Halo: Reach gameplay.
It got me so excited seeing the DMR and the Spartan staring at flowers that are "bloom"ing, FINALLY we’ll be getting that much needed tweak to the DMR’s bloom. Or fixing the Banshee’s Bomb and unlimited flipping that makes it a killing machine. Or any other of the issues that plague the gameplay.
But then take 2 steps back in this quote, “So for example, you could have a playlist with loads of changes called “ANNIVERSARY PLAYLIST” sitting alongside one called “NORMAL REACH STUFF” which plays with all the Reach rules intact.”
I would absolutely hate it if 343i’s only direction and only focus of this Title Update would be to add Classic playlists. That’s just so wrong. Why should us who enjoy the Halo: Reach gameplay get completely left in the dust while 343i’s concedes to making any significant fixes to the default game and tries to copy Bungie?
If this Title Update only deals with Classic/Anniversary type of gameplay, it seems as though 343i’s has given up on creativity. Or attempting to change up the gameplay to give us something new and fresh. Or trying to make a real impact on the Halo universe and give us a unique flavor of gameplay completely different than any of Bungie’s games.
It seems very likely that the forum complainers may have won out… And I won’t be supporting 343i’s if Halo 4 turns out to be Halo 3.5. I’m about change and innovation. I want this series to evolve with the times and continue to give us gamers a brand new Halo experience. I want 343i’s to make Halo their own franchise and give it their own twist.
The only good thing I got from this week’s Update was that the Title Update would be coming out “significantly” before Halo: Anniversary’s release. So there’s that I guess…
Other than that, all I can read into is 343i’s saying, “Oh we’re so sorry! Don’t you worry guys, we’ll never try anything new! We’ll just copy Bungie for the entire new trilogy just so people don’t complain! You guys ever used Copy/Paste on your computers? Well we’re going to do that with Halo for the next 10 years!”
If, by all means, I am mistaken and indeed the Title Update will be changing ALL of the aspects of the gameplay, then PLEASE call me out on it. Tell me I’m wrong. But right now, from the Weekly Bulletin’s (Ok so bulletin is pretty catchy
) the ONLY message I’ve been getting is that the Classic gameplay is getting all of our attention. Everyone else can suck it.
Please someone tell me I’m completely wrong!
I’m confused by this too. I wish they would explain these in understandable terms
Reach isn’t change and innovation. Reach is gimmicks and abandonment of their old fanbase.
Halo doesn’t have to completely rewrite its gameplay formula to innovate. Why people hate Reach is because it wasn’t a Halo game. It didn’t feel like a Halo game, it didn’t live up to the standards of a Halo game, and it certainly didn’t follow the guidelines and rules of a Halo game.
Innovation isn’t just invincibility buttons, sprint, or jetpacks. What happened to game mechanics that actually added depth to gameplay, instead of dumbing down certain elements or giving players a crutch to lean on? What happened to dual wielding or vehicle jacking?
What I see in Reach isn’t innovation, it’s rewriting a perfectly good Halo formula and pooping on the old one.
There really isnt anything wrong with Reach other than a few glitches here and there so I dont care if the update is only for the classic playlist, I didnt get to play halo ce online so now it might be my chance.
How do you say its not a halo game? Its set in the halo universe which makes it a halo game, the changed gameplay mechanics doesn’t make it any less a halo game.
Wait and see. It’s all you can do if the new bulletins just aren’t clear enough for you.
It does seem like 343i is looking to establish two totally different types of experiences on Reach, though. There will be playlists under the “HALO ANNIVERSARY” heading that will pull people who were fond of Halo’s earlier instalments (2 and 3) and then the Halo: Reach playlists that people have already experienced. Also, I hope they change up the Reach playlists even a little bit (say, add some new, unique ones) if they’re going to use a large chunk of the TU to cater to veteran Halo players.
Whatever they decide to do will be fine with me and I’m sure it will attempt to feed the crowd of insatiable gamers known as the Halo population.
> How do you say its not a halo game? Its set in the halo universe which makes it a halo game, the changed gameplay mechanics doesn’t make it any less a halo game.
It doesn’t feel similar like the other Halo games’ gameplay, though it may look like Halo still.
