1-50 in halo 3 was trash. everyone just boosted doubles. halo 2 1-50 was pretty good though.

I saw this thread from the admin about halo fest. But IS THIS REALLY EVERYTHING of the TU. Not really or? Okay some things are very good like NO BLOOM and the armor lock/camo stuff.
Now back to the ranking system. They should add the Halo 2 1-50 system. It was the greatest. No derankers like in Halo 3 and you experienced really tough games vs players who are on your TRUE skill. The only thing what there will ever be are cheaters. And don’t say that in arena aren’t cheaters. There are enough I found some! Only look on the arena population, this is a joke for a ranking system. This shows that arena system is wrong.

Arena does have cheaters that perform DDoS attacks against other players to get to top 1 percent Onyx. However, they are rare and my experience in the Arena is that it’s tough but not MLG tough.
Arena population is a helluva lot better than it was before. It’s system encouraged selfish play in a team game. You were better off not helping your team mates so that you could score kills and not die.
At least now it’s a bit better. W/L (Wins/loss) which encourages team work and while not it’s not perfect, neither was 1-50 as it was in Halo 3.

I agree with that link’s post, the only reason people want 1-50 back is because it was in Halo 3, and that is the only reason, not because it is accurate of representing true player skill (which it is NOT, especially Halo 2’s), but because it was in two other halo games before Reach.
bs angel and alot of community members have posted the details of the TU several times and none of them state a new ranking system, besides, it’s nearly have been a year and nearly everybody is atleast a Colonel+. It would be useless for a new system.
Off-topic: I know German and English are both deprived from the Germanic language but is it actually easy to learn German instead of others since my first language is English?

The problem with 1-50 is that it is not your true skill level, it is True Skill combined with a progressive ‘RPG’ leveling system. A pure True Skill level would be far better, and would allow you to be matched with players of equal skill much easier.

No the reason is that arena is boring and you find there only selfish players=no teamwork. In h2 and h3 was teamwork everything and every teammate supported to win games and so the gameplay was more amazing. And I can’t find anything in arena with 4s because the population is too low (on the first year of a new halo game LOL). This speaks for a new ranking system and more playlists. The ranking system should be fixed…

The WIN/LOSS should count 100% because Halo is a team-based game. Every shot from the team count and can bring the win. Then I would have no problem with the ranking system, it could be 1-100 or whatever, onyx % but then they should add other ranked playlist because the arena rules aren’t the best!

I think it’s not easy to learn german, maybe so hard like spanish I don’t know ^^ but I have english since 7 years in school and I understand it very well but I don’t know how it is to be english and learn german!^^

The population is low because many players feel intimidated about joining the only ranked playlist, they feel it will just be filled with “pros”. The solution would be to categorize playlists into social and ranked, and to use arenas ranking system in all the ranked playlists.

Win/loss does count 100%. It’s been that way for almost six months now.
The only difference between 1-50 and Arena is that 1-50 shows what your TrueSkill is while Arena shows how your TrueSkill compares to the population. IMO the only thing holding the Arena ranking system back at this point is the fact that it’s underutilized. I think the system would be much more widely accepted if more playlists were moved into Arena and your Arena rank was made much more visible across all playlists.
