It makes me sad cause I was so happy and waited for the Title Update to be pure awesomeness. Bleedthru shields, Armor Lock getting the much needed nerf, etc. But for me the game just moves too fast and not really enjoyable. Almost like trying to be a Call of Duty game in Spartan Armor. Not sure if bloom was adjusted to much in the “other” direction as Bungie Halo Reach was.
I tried it again the other night and thought I would never, ever, in a million years go back to original Reach but looks like I may be playing that “version”
Curious to hear the thoughts of other Halo gamers that will voice their thoughts in mature and intelligent manner.
Also wanted to add that population at least when I am playing there are tons more playinge the orginial Reach then the Beta Reach. I may not be in the minority of those that find the update not what we all hoped it to be.
I do want to say that I see no difference. All the major problems are still here. Grenades, AA. They just made the game worse. What I think they should do is give up. Halo: Reach was a failure, and it can’t be fixed. And if 343 spends all their time with this crap called Reach, then Halo: 4 will be just as bad.
Those are not title update changes, those are megalo scripts for specific gametypes. Not the same thing.
The title update added megalo hooks for more developer options (which allows everything you said, not causes it), fixed the hdd issue for campaign/firefight, and added party privacy in-game. Nothing really to complain about.
The grenades should be weaker, melees should be weaker, and weapon bleedthrough should die. Melee bleedthrough is good though. Bloom should be removed on all weapons, and vehicle health should be adjusted. Personal health should automatically recharge, health packs should be removed, jump height should be raised, as should movement speed. There you go. A proper Halo game.
I would have been happy if bleedthru was added for melee only. Armor lock nerfed as should be. Nades weaker. I still actually say increase bloom so spammers have to learn to aim, not spray-and-pray.
Increasing jump height would be a total and complete deal breaker for me. One of main reasons I did not enjoy the other Halos online much WAS the jumping. I want to play a FPS shooter, not to aim at jumping rabbits all over the screen. I could go out and buy that Cabellea’s hunting game or whatever it is called. Safe to say I am very much against changing jump height. lol
The changes the TU brought were great, and I really enjoy them, however I rarely play the TU Beta playlist. I play more vanilla Reach, because it just feels more fun. I wouldn’t call it a failure by any means.
I dont think it was a failure,it was specificly designed for a group of players that felt that game play was not to their standards.Zero bloom was one of the main concerns amoung these players,as well as other AL nerfing.I commend 343 for creating a playlist for these players as it shows that they are listening,as you stated it appears that the vast majority of reach players are just not that interested(I can only assume based on the lack of numbers). But in the end if it pleases a portion of the population then it is a sucsess and should be applauded.
