Anyone else feel as though when your teammates leave that you’re truly the one getting the punishment? For quitting early they MIGHT get a ban and even if they do get a ban they can simple go play a game of warzone until it expires. We on the other hand have to sit there for 10 minutes and receive not only a blow to our KD and rank, but also a blow to our pride because I don’t know about you all but I’m the type of guy that likes to win. I’m sitting there getting shot and grenaded from all angles by enemy players who are likely below my skill level while the teammate who quit early is probably playing warzone or making some nachos.
After sitting there and taking my punishing defeat I am then greeted by the sound of me losing a rank. Tonight I went from Diamond 1 all the way to Diamond 4. Then played 3 games in a row of 3v4 and was sent back down to Diamond 3.
I’m usually the guy that never quits or surrenders, but now that I’m the one getting punished I have to ask, what’s the point?

Unfortunately there is nothing you can really do about it except to never give up. Kuddos to you sticking it out, the real losers are the ones that quit because they are making Nachos. I have never actually quit a game yet in Halo 5 because I never give up either, though I do have a lot of disconnects due to poor internet.

ive quit matches im not gonn hide that, because if its 3v4 you can still win if you are good, but whensomeone gives up its 2v4… usually the last person will quit also… and well sorry to say but im not gonna play 1v4 unless i got my hyperfocus. same with farming and warzone, if i keep dying and spawnkilled on urban il leave. idc about the ban il just play customs or campaign or forge for a while but hellno that im gonna let a game ruin my day.
I don’t quit because I realize that it impacts others, and I am not that selfish of a person. I know where you are coming from OP and it’s pathetic that people knowingly ruin the game for others. Unfortunately there is not much that we can do about it. I’m eating taco salad right now and its better than nachos.
Arena is the worst for this. You can make a point that 3v4 slayer is doable, but strongholds, capture the flag, and assault are pretty much loses when you lose a teammate. Make any game with a quitter not count towards CSR and a loss for a quitter/disconnected/timed out person period.

343, this is why you need to change things up for the worst. Ban the console from the servers and not the gamer tag. Make it last days not short amounts of hours.

Well, logically, CSR shouldn’t affect the winning team either then.
Then again, teams of four could easily create smurf accounts that they take turn playing with while the rest use their proper accounts. Then wheb things go south, the smurf quit and the proper accounts wouldn’t have to worry about CSR.

I agree. Winning with odds in your favor is not winning.
join a Spartan company, group up with other recruits, that will eliminate anyone quitting matches, also using a mix and talking to your team helps motivate them to stick with you if you prefer to not join a company.
I think it will be kinda hard trying to fine a right way to punish them, perhaps putting down their rank brutally will be reasonable like they quit 3 games they go straight to number one in their rank example diamond 5 quits 3 times go to diamond 1, and so and so… and may as well with the level, 5 points down…
Needs to be a less harsh hit against banning you if you’ve already had a teammate leave.
Nothing better than sitting in a game 2v4 and can’t quit because you’ll probably get banned.

Good for you Spartan! What reward did 343 give you for not quitting? Let me guess. That’s right! You won’t get banned. CONGRATULATIONS SPARTAN.! You have won a ummmmmm. What?
I would just like to mention that you can a file complaint against someone who quits early. It’s literally it’s own option, “Quitting Early”
People say it’s pointless because they think nothing will ever come of it. However, I’ve gotten a message saying one of my complaints I filed was acted on. If everyone takes the time to file a report instead of not doing it because they don’t think anyone else will, eventually that player will amass enough complaints.
I have filed more than likely hundreds of those and have never recieved a response. I kind of think that the system is only active if someone is reported and not automatically logged.
I run into this more frequently than I feel it should happen. I report every time someone quits, whether it’s on my team or the opposing. I also expect that I get reported the few times when I quit after going down 2v4 or 1v4. I have received quite a few messages saying that action was taken on a report that I filed, so hopefully something is happening behind the scenes.
Whenever your entire team quits and it’s 1v4 I feel the nex time you die before you respawn an option should pop up like hold x to quit. In doing so you should be able to exit the game and it not count towards your stats however the winning team should get credit for their accomplishments. This option should only happen once. Should you chose to respawn in then game on. Keep playing and realize your gonna lose its too late.
