Is anyone else tired of being banned for lag? I’ll randomly and suddenly be disconnected from a game, then I get banned. I try to complete every match I start, even when we’re losing horribly, but yet I still get banned because of Halo 5 Server Errors. You should only be banned if you CHOOSE to leave, not when your internet connection or servers fail. Almost none of my DNF’s are because I quit.
Its worse when the game ends, but just before you reach the post game carnage report you lose connection and that entire game you just played is made pointless.

That’s 3/4 Warzone games for me tonight. Kicked 16 minutes in. The servers are particularly bad tonight…

You mean the thread that 343 made so they can ignore everyone with issues with their banning system ?
I don’t think Halo 5’s banhammer is sophisticated enough to differentiate between a quit and a DNF, so it treats all DNFs the same to make sure all exploits are covered. This means that legitimate disconnects would also count against you. It is slightly unfair, I agree with that. However, I also think that if you as a player are getting disconnected over and over again, you need to troubleshoot your connection.
I am curious if any of you have honestly checked to make sure things are good on your end? Im trying to figure out if there is any link between what type of ISP one has… Do any of you have cable or dsl?

I mean the thread that was made so that the guilty could whinge without bothering the rest of us.
Some tips that may help… #1 make sure you use a wired connection for your Xbox. It’s WiFi is really weak… #2 always do a hard reset before playing H5. H5 takes about all the power your Xbox has so back ground stuff can interfere… Hope they help.
Also if you have DSL or Cable ISP you can log into your modem and see if the problem is on your end. Most modems log issues into them,
I’m sick of that happening that too. Banned for 2 hours cause lagged out. Yesterday when playing infection there wasn’t a sign of lag at all and it just disconnects me from the game. Happened twice. Then again in warzone
The 343 apologists on here just haven’t hit the ban threshold yet, then they will be crying like the rest of us on that 71 page ban thread. It seems like the game just counts total dnf’s and once you hit a certain number you’re banned, with each ban being longer and no reset. It doesn’t seem to factor in the amount of games completed. The servers will ensure the banhammer keeps swinging.
Can this be a problem for some people in particular areas? I keep lagging out of FFA and Slayer. Warzone and everything else works without any disconnection.

It could be possible if people in particular regions are experiencing this. It also could be that most might have the same ISP… There are a lot of variables that play into this. Halo5 is the most demanding game of any game ive seen that really gives very little room for error when it comes to internet connection and ISP networks. All I know is I would make 100% sure that my internet wasn’t dropping off on my end before anything else. Because if it was my ISP I would be all over them and get them to fix it!
Usually I can expect to be kicked from the first game of the day that I play. 9 out of 10 times I’m very accurate and correct.

I really wish that I could’ve taken a screenshot of the Warzone Turbo game in which I got both Warden kills. I played sooo well that game. =/

I have HSI ( High Speed Internet ) 75 mbps and using a Net Gear router. I’ve been disconnected from the Halo servers 4x since launch. Each time I lose connection from their servers or I have a technical issues on my end I just stop playing for an hour or just end my gaming session to do other things. This helps avoid being banned and I’ve get to be banned. So I must be doing something right.
