I’m seriously getting tirred of loosing games because of bad teamates. I just played through ten game to quallify for slayer and Iost most of them due to poor players or being short a teamate. I’m not an amazing player, but I was usualy the best guy in most of those games. I don’t think it’s fair that players are ranked bassed on how others perform. If I’m on an uneven team half the time and the other half two of my teamates are loosing with two kills and seventeen deaths that doesn’t reflect a good players skill. Or if a poor player gets carried to victory by superior teams every game he’ll end up platinum when he deserves bronze. The ranking system needs to take KDA into account, not just wins/losses. It’s not fair.

there even worse of grifball. how can people be so -Yoinking!- oblivious and have like a 10 second delayed reaction
Get a team then.
I’m not, bad teams are great when you’re fighting against them
I believe it takes performance and W/L both into account far as I know. I agree it doesn’t always work. (1.5 k/d, 1.8 KDA, and won most of my games this season only to be put in gold 2 while worse team mates get say gold 4). I think they’re still working it out and I think this season they’ve become more strict on placements. A lot of diamond players have been lowered to plat ranks. So could just be them making the requirements harder to get this go round.
If you are concerned with losing then enter those matches with a team you can count on. If you go in solo you get a crap shoot of everyone else who is playing. Statistically half of them will be below average players.
The ranking system is actually very fair, but it’s far from perfect. I have my issues/complaints as many others do.
The main issue here is that you are playing a team playlist solo and expect to have good teammates. Try and recruit a team on this forum, other forums, and/or invite people that were decent on your team or the other team to your fireteam.
The ranking system should be only win/loss. Reach tried what you are asking for and it was a total disaster.
this should help
No matter what you do, you will hate the outcome. Guess what happens if only KDA is looked at, then I will farm you in every game type. I won’t go for objectives because that hurts my KD, I will betray teammates because I can get rockets which helps my KD. I will never again be a team player because that hurts my KD. Every ranking system is flawed, but win/loss must be a major part of the analysis.
Just be a carrier. I here it works wonders for spreading the tactic of spamming explosives…
Play with buddies.
forgot to mention that most of the time on grifball also teammates either stand on the ball, dont defend grif, get themselves killed immediatley after they get the ball, dont defend their goal worth a -Yoink-, or just throw the ball at the enemy team and give them an easy point, or kill their own teammates with their horrible 10 or 15 second delayed reactions, and rush in like idiots and get themselves killed
I fell from onyx to platinum 6 in team slayer this season after my placement games… I always search solo though. My team tends to win when people have mics most of the time.
I knew i was going to place lower as soon as i saw that my first placement game was against Plats.

I have seen many people say this, but I have never run into a person who would’ve actually been right about it, and you don’t seem to be an exception any more than the others. And why would you be? You’re matched with player randomly within some range from your skill level. Then you and all the other players in the game are randomly divided into two teams. Nowhere here is there a preference to put you into the worse team. You’re as likely to end up in the better team as you are to end up in the worse.
Moreover, in the long term, your teammates will randomly vary from game to game. The only constant in your games is you, the rest is just random noise, and for that reason the only performer that can have any permanent effect on your rating is you. There is no benefit in introducing K/D ratio into ratings. It will not make the ratings more accurate.

It’s not just that I end up with bad players, it’s that half the time I’m short a guy. I just seems to me that when stuff like that happens oftens enough they should take skill into account as well. Yesterday I played a team were three people droped out halfway in, and the last guy stuck through it, and almost beat four of us. If he’s that good the he shouldn’t rank down because of other players abandoning the game. I know It cant be easy to track that many players and their skill levels, but something could be done.

I’m not saying it’s on purpose, I’m just saying it’s bad luck. Also, if I loose two games I rank down. Doesn’t mater how I do, that’s what happens. If I win two games I rank up, weather I’m good or not. I don’t know exactly how the ranking system works, or how the matchmaking system works. I’m just stating what I’ve experienced. For whatever reason, unknown to me, I seem to have bad luck in matchmaking when it comes to being short a player, or having very poor teammates. If things like this happen then something needs to be done to compensate for it.
Normally i dont give any credit to this because everybody gets bad teammates. Every team will have someone go 5 and 16. Sometimes the other team will have it just the way of random matching. But i have been thinking about this last night and today. my win percentage is a lot lower then normal been losing a ton. Regardless of me doing well so. Maybe its just some unlucky matching.
Yeah, blame your teammates…
