Tired of all the BS

I’ve played halo 2 and 3 live and no what BS in a halo game looks like, it always comes with lag. But nothing compares to halo 4. My internet connection is great, and I rarely see the telltale signs of lag at all. And yet this game throws you a constant stream of crap. Bullet sponges to splash damage variance, and no, its not the perk. Some games you could be standing on my nade and just lol it off, where as their nades have a seriously lethal radius.

Variation and inconsistency are in fact the hallmarks of this game. Plasma nades can go through your opponents, or have an unusually large hit box making it so you can’t miss. Railgun shots can find the gap in a players legs, or curl to find the target. The plasma pistol tracking seems to be controlled by RNG, and is never certain at any range. The sticky detonators blast radius varies. The infamous bullet magnetism can just switch off at will. And like I said, all in games where you would otherwise not believe there is lag.

So, tell me your thoughts on this matter, or feel free to share the BS you encounter regularly.

Sorry couldn’t read past the first paragraph the bashing was too bad

Everything seems consistent to me to be quiet honest, only time I lag is when my brother is streaming videos while I’m trying to play, any other time I don’t have any issues.

Most weapon damages and mechanics seem pretty consistent for me.

Like I said though, other than these things, I rarely have any indication of lag such as jerky movements or teleporting.

Then maybe it’s just the way the game works and it’s not lag?

That is the question.

Yes, OP I’m sick of all the Boltshot users also.

I have experienced all the same things OP has described. There is no way I can lag this much. I am on a hardlined linear 25x25 up/down with a 17ms ping. If its coming down to host, then host needs to be who has the BEST connection not the worst connection.

OP most of us here feel your pain. That’s the reason alot of us are taking breaks from it until theres a TU to fix it, should it come. Till then do what many of us are doing, play Minecraft.

i have been Super Taiko drum master and the first two Katamari’s on ps2!

I have also noticed the variation weapons have…no I haven’t…maybe once?

I disagree entirely. The game seems to run very consistently to me. Your experience seemed entirely different from mine for some reason, and it certainly wasn’t from a lack of noticing.

I love when a Sticky Grenade bounces off my target. Priceless could be the only way I could describe the look on my face right before my mouth wrenches out a curse in slow motion that would make a Scottish herdsman proud.

These seem mutually-exclusive to me.

A sticky going through one player could be the result of a desynch – on your console, it hit, but on the host, it missed. A sticky “magnetizing” to other players is similar – your console showed a false miss, but the host updated it with the proper location of the grenade.

> The plasma pistol tracking seems to be controlled by RNG, and is never certain at any range. The sticky detonators blast radius varies.

Legitimate complaints. Plasma Pistol tracking does seem hard to predict, making it essential to lead one’s target. The feeling I’ve gotten from my short experiences using the PP is that it only seems to track infantry, and the degree to which it tracks will decrease as the projectile travels farther.

Explosives work better when you’re host. It’s a dramatic difference, I have tested it with friends. The Railgun will curve to hit a target if you’re host and when you’re not, you’ll hit but not even put them one shot (also, if host has railgun, it won’t even show the charge at times).

Same thing with Sticky Detonators/Grenades, found this out because I was wrecking my friend with one (even if my shot was a good bit off) and when he grabbed it, he planted one right at my feet and only put me half shields…

Needles seek better when you’re host, magnetism is higher when your host, stickies track when you’re host… test these things yourself.

They are. I’m just saying that you never know what’s going to happen

I’ve been dealing with this for the last 6 years but I only realized it last month. I thought this was what Halo was supposed to be like.

But then I played Reach and noticed I would plant a grenade right under my opponent’s foot and he would barely get hurt, while any grenade within a 10 mile radius of me would be instant death. Again, it is remarkable that I didn’t realize this before. I’m from Europe, and almost always get matched up against a full american lobby (go figure).

In Halo 4 the sticky detonator is useless for me, while an opponent will have me knocking on death’s door with a blast just about anywhere. Other times I will unload 6 or 7 shots clean into the head of an opponent, but he will laugh it off and kill me in four or five shots. Also, in killcams I have noticed I am appearing much earlier in my opponent’s screen than I actually see them. Not sure if that makes sense, but yeah…

Grifball was absolutely unplayable for me in H3 and Reach, but strangely the hammer swing detection has gotten slightly better for Halo 4.

Anyway, it makes me wonder how much “better” I would be at Halo if I was on a level playing field regarding connection/lag as everyone else.

Trust me when I say that the lag issues you get on your end will never come close to the lag on mine, because I’m not even anywhere NEAR America.

Good god. I’m getting dominated by shrieking prepubescent teens from all across the globe with Suppressors. All the time. Not cool.

ok, keep that unconstructive nonsense to yourself in the future…he’s entitled to his opinion.

This. 100% agree
