I’ve been struggling to get the boltshot weapon commendation for so long, just can’t do it haha. I’m absolutely useless with it and all its variants, even though the Open hand is arguably the easiest weapon in the game to use. Still, I’m just -Yoink- with it and get owned against the magnum, which I significantly prefer. Still, on level 5/5 and only need about 43 more kills, any suggestions, specific game modes, or easy tips and tricks the community recommends? I’ve gotten every other weapon commendation so really wanna finish this off
I like to think of it has a pistol/ar combo. It has the range of an ar but fires like a pistol. I tend to spam it and aim just like I would with the ar.
I think it takes 2 head shots on no shields to get a kill.
Open Hand on Escape from Arc with Double Cap on Blue Team can be devastating.
Call in Open Hand in WZA because it is better than Ar and pistol early in game.
Arena:
Pair it with -plasma pistol/storm rifle/ best option plasma rifle
knock off shield get a free head shot. given that you don’t have to be 100% precise it works well transitioning from an auto.
Warzone:
open hand or closed fist your pick.
use it early in warzone and warzone assault, its worthless later on.

Play warzone and spawn a boltshot as soon as you can. As it is a low level REQ, the others players will not have good Power weapons like rockets, so you will have your chance against magnum/AR and sometimes BR.
You can get maybe 2 kills a game with this weapon, so in 1 or 2 weeks it’s done
I’ve had success jump shooting with it, like over walls I try to use the tracking of the weapon to help me win fights where a hit scan weapon might get one or two shots on me, I try to jump and get 3 or 4 bursts over the wall so they’ll connect to win gun fights with it.
Outside of Warzone, Super Fiesta, and the Husky Raid in the Community Action Sack, try using the Boltshot during Infection should you find one laying around. Really helped me finish the commendation.
I did the majority of that commendation in WZA. Just be sure to never directly engage someone with it, due to its projectiles being so slow. Try to attack enemies that stray off from their team. Also try to attack them before they notice you. If they are already shooting you, fall back, switch to a better weapon for that engagement, and then move on to a better target
