im losing all of my 1v1 and idk y plz help, I have tried different leaders and found im comfy with shipmaster, I have tried different strategies, different build orders and such and I personally think i micro and macro nicely, i just dont know what to do, I scout lots and counter there army and still lose like a guy went 2 scarabs and engineers, i went banshee, hunter, and reaver and still lost that battle like how can I improve

RTS games as a whole are very difficult to get “good” at. What worked for me is go on youtube and look up videos from “breaking the clutch” or other youtubers that play halo wars 2. A lot of the strategies have changed with the new leaders and the new metas, but watching them do macro and micro will help you learn how to operate more efficiently. I went from Platinum last season to Champion this season with that and just practicing on legendary AIs. They aren’t the best but it will help you practice your build orders so you are more comfortable. As for gameplay. If you can control the opening, you have a much greater chance of winning as a whole. Use your leader unit as soon as you can an learn the best way to have him win the early game for you. Practice and try to learn something from every loss, youll get better if you want to.

because of the nature of Halo Wars 2 its very likely that the winner is determined in the first 8 minutes of the game. So like THEWALL said, you need a solid opener that gives you a good economy and preferably map control

To counter the specific situation you mentioned (2 Scarabs and engineers) its best to use your reavers to focus the engineers while your hunters engage one of the scarabs. You want to focus one scarab at a time and kill one of them as quickly as possibly. Taking out the engineers first is important because their Y ability can help protect from leader powers. Make sure to try to use your leader powers AFTER one or both scarabs have used their Y shielding ability. Taking out the engineers also allows you to keep your troops cloaked so that the scarab can’t attack you. Keep your forces moving also, scarabs take a long time to turn around. Get behind them and don’t stop moving unless you have to. 2 scarabs can throw you off, but if you stay focused and micromanage your units to focus on one scarab at a time, you’ll find that scarabs struggle.

I looked at your last 2 SM solo games.
It looked like you went for a heavy ghost game from the start. That’s great for map control and stopping infantry, but you need a solid follow-up.
If you like the ghosts, I’d suggest scouting as much as possible. Start around the 2 minute point, and see what you can do.
If they’re pushing for T2, try to hit them fast. If they’re just cranking units, crank counter units.
With Shipmaster, one of the best things you can do is sneak teleport base destroyers into their base, preferably when they’re away.
So, if you see them hitting one of your minibases with their army, that’s the point to teleport 5-6 brutes/locusts into their main.

The biggest thing is scouting and putting pressure on them early.
Also, you went up against Jerome in one of those games. Until the update, he’s just going to overpower many people.
