TIPS for WINNING 100% of the Time in Halo 4

> Majority of this advice is for Keeping a Positive K/D Ratio when going up against a far more Superior player! Take it from a Guy (ME) that has a horrible K/D in Halo Reach and Halo 3 Because he was too impatient and started fights with everyone he saw, even when he knew he couldn’t win! Its better to get 3 KILLS and 0 Deaths, than 12 KILLS and 35 DEATHS!

Avoiding a Fight is the Only Way to Win

There is a lot of information that you can read, watch and listen to, on how to win a fight. However, I believe the only true way to win a fight is to avoid the fight altogether. I don’t mean this in some deep, philosophical way. Not even in a pacifistic way. I mean that, truly, an avoided fight is far better than a “won” fight. These are methods I’ve developed over the years.

(Here is a Example… Lets say it involves a man with a big stick trying to kill you)

 1. You can fight back

 2. You can do nothing and risk getting injured or killed

 3. You can walk away, and pray

 4. Or you can take the stick from them

(Or you can prevent the Scenario)

 1. Hide before they find you

 2. Wear Protective Armor

 3. Lay a Trap and hope for the best

 4. Get a Bigger more threatening stick and scare them off

Just Apply this analogy to Self Defense in Halo 4… Now based on this logic how do you win in a One on One DMR fight with a opponent far more skilled than yourself? Well the Best way to Win a Fight, is to Avoid one.

But what if you have no choice BUT to reveal your Location to your More skilled opponent?

Just Trust your instincts, and that state of awareness goes further in avoiding fights than anything else. Take a moment to consider where you’re going, when and who with (Does your team know your location and do they have your back?). Take notice of everything you can and play out events in your mind as you’re going. Life is like a big chess game, and if you’re willing to be aware, you’ll start to notice patterns. And most importantly, Don’t take risks you don’t need to! Don’t blow your hiding spot by Shooting at an enemy first, when you know you will most likely lose. Have Patience and wait for the right moment to attack!

Disarm the Situation

If a difficult situation arises, start by taking stock of what’s going on. The who, what, when, where, why and how becomes incredibly relevant very quickly. You have many options for disarming the situation and avoiding a fight. Staying confident through all of them is important. None of these are foolproof, and some are more likely to work than others.

 1. Walk away when you can - As I Mentioned earlier, If you notice the difficult situation before it reaches the apex, you can often walk away. Depending on the particulars, you might lose some pride, but that’s far better than losing the Match.

 2. Be Unpredictable - This one is pretty Self Explanatory.

 3. Out maneuver your opponent - Practice your Strafing and get used to using sprint as an assistant, not a Crutch.

Just practice, exercise common sense and avoid as many fights as you can, and if you get caught in an unavoidable fight that you know you can’t win… Don’t be afraid to ask for help and rely on a teammate.

> NOTE: I am Not the most skilled player, but I am very experienced! Do you know the difference between Skill and experience? Skill is what comes when you read the fine print; experience is what you get when you don’t. And The only source of knowledge is experience.

REMEMBER I AM ONLY TRYING TO HELP! IT’S JUST ADVICE. YOU DON’T HAVE TO FOLLOW IT!

If everyone were to take this advice and just not fight the games would all end up in a 0-0 tie

I mean it makes perfect sense, but I think people are too stubborn or cocky

Very good strategic points! However, people care too much about their KDR to avoid an encounter.

Those who punch the throat and run away live.
Call the injured and target fixated target on your 6 and reacquire a more distant and not so looking in your direction opponent.
If they’re not fixated, return in greater numbers.
Winning is not about proving who’s best in a 1vs1 unless it’s actually a 1vs1 match.

Is this real life or a video game

I wish my friend would read this post. He’s pretty good at Halo, but since he just decides to Leeroy Jenkins every single encounter, he ends up going -5 every game.

The Gods of War frown on cowards T_T

> The Gods of War frown on cowards T_T

What is cowardice but the body’s wisdom of its weakness? What is bravery but the body’s wisdom of its strength. The coward and the hero march together within every man. So to call one man ‘coward’ and another ‘brave’ merely serves to indicate the possibilities of their achieving the opposite.

What if you play FFA?
Also, you have to take risks, you just have to, you won’t be able to effectively gauge every situation all the time, that’s where unpredictability comes into play, by the time you can effectively realize the situation, 90% of the time 2 things will have happened.

 1. It will have already changed.
 2. it’s too late.

Temper your combat with the Wisdom of the Allfather, and strike with the Strength of Thor. To rush into battle is a fool’s errand, and to flee in fear of death marks a coward. If death is to take you this day, rise and meet it sword in hand.

Meh, don’t care about my k/d

I usually just charge in and kill as many enemies as I can before I die and my k/d really isn’t that bad.

That is why I love Halo and the body/mind. Sometimes when I play Halo I have an “inner knowing” (if you want to call it that) of a certain situation. Sometimes my instincts tell me to “run this way” or “don’t engage the enemy”, sometimes I follow them and other times I don’t and when I don’t, oh, I regret it.

One time I had a guy down to one shot he was starting to run and cut corners and stuff so I couldn’t get a clear shot on him so I gave chase. My instincts told me to not follow him but I did anyway. Lets just say that when I followed him and it seemed like the chase was up, I turned the corner to find out that their were two enemies with him and I died. He bait and switched me! Sometimes its better to cut and run (or in my case, not give chase) so that you can live to fight another day.

Just play conservatively and the kills will usually come to you. Know when to stay in a fight and know when to back off.

This is very good advice for people playing against me. Run little children, run as fast as you can! >:D

How 'bout just playing well and having fun?

> This is very good advice for people playing against me. Run little children, run as fast as you can! >:D

BPR is not 100 argument invalid.

No i’m not serious.

I don’t re-enter battle until my shields are fully re-charged now. I used to kill a dude… run to find another and get wasted because I wasn’t patient enough to wait.

Works for me!
