The grunt mech is an unbelievable grunt with a mech (pretty self explanatory) I would like to know the best possible weapon /vehicle to take him down with. (And where are his weak spots at).
Weak spots:
- Shoot him on the nose till the hatch pops off now that exposed circuitry is a crit spot.
- Shoot the big thruster on his back that shoots the hail of plasma/ needles it’ll eventually explode disabling that attack and opening a big crit spot of exposed circuits
- Shoot the energy shield till it opens and you can 1 shot headshot the grunt inside. (the shield does begin to regen if you leave it alone and can do so after it goes down as well)
As for vehicles really any high tier tank preferably a scorpion for extra range. Wasps are good if you know how to dodge the homing attacks. I’ve never used req weapons on it so I can’t say for sure but I would just avoid doing that as the mech will make short work of anyone of foot.

As for basic weapons in a pinch I use any weapon with forunner rounds as they deal more damage to vehicles than standard bullets.
I’m cheap when it comes to using req cards
The real trick though is team work, you yourself will have a hard time taking it down alone. I opt to clear as many lesser enemies within reason and time available to make it easier for my team to press in and start dealing damage. If you see your team focusing fire on one weak spot and your shooting some other part of him just switch to your teams target. Taking down the shield is very tempting but it’s very tough to break. If you don’t know what to target just default to the thruster on his back that’s a common target and disables the homing barrage attacks making it very easy for everyone else to swarm him.
Tanks and Wraiths, but mostly tanks as their shots are easier to aim. Simple as that. There really isn’t any “good” weapon to use against them since they’re total bullet sponges, so you’re really depending on your teammates to work him over with their heavy weaponry too. If you want to take him down “easily”, though, REQ out a Brute Plasma Rifle and bust his shield, then shoot him with your BR/DMR/Pistol.
Recon Kinetic SMG if you are willing to crouch/aim and shoot for crit spots. Lots of ammo, lots of damage, infinitely cheap. It’s what I do when I get teammates that aren’t garbage.
If your teammates are garbage, Temple Wraith can shoot fast and from behind cover, it also can evade attacks easier and has ~50% more health
If you want to assist in shield busting, Sorrow of Teash is cheap and ravages shields, keep a Laser targeter DMR to slam the Grunt when it goes down
If you have good teamwork, any scorpion will do as their high damage shots can still crit. If you carried over a scorpion from a round prior (spending enough time to get req points back) and have trustable temmates, you can get a damage boost to ramp up the damage further
I also have used Gungeese to stun lock the mech from behind cover as they will usually constantly try to repel grenades thrown from the back seat whenever possible
A way that works for me, Spartan lazer out his shields, then DMR / H2BR him in the face.
