Tips for struggling players in wzff!

Some people on the forums have been complaining about the difficulty of warzone firefight, here are some helpful tips to help those players out:

  • **Tank beats everything!**Seriously, if you are at req lvl 6 spawn in a scorpion with the wheelman armor mod to deal with wardens, hunters, knights, etc.
  1. Hunters at the home base!?

The round 5 swarmlord hunters can be tricky to deal with on stormbreak, especially because it is difficult to reach them with vehicles. Instead try using “spammy” power weapons to cut through the swarm of grunts that spawn to defend. I suggest: scourge of fire, light of urs, the answer.

  1. -Yoinking!- banshee raiders!

Banshee raiders seem to spawn in at round 3 when your req lvl isn’t very high… Try using kinetic bolt weapons, railguns, chaingun turrets and oni warthogs. The hardest part of this round is communication between teammates to focus fire a banshee. Even if nobody is talking, talk over the mic, they will hear you over their tv.

  1. I hate promethians…

There is a certain hate for the promethians in this game for being annoying and spongy. Here are a few tips to make them a little easier:
-Use precision weapons to headshot crawlers. NOT automatics.
-Use promethian weapons on soldiers, they seem to do more damage to them. (Suppressors are plentiful!)
-Kill the bloody watchers… they heal, make shields and catch grenades.
-Shoot the glowy spots on knights, one hit to the back when exposed is a 1 hit kill.

If anybody has any additional helpful tips, list them here!

These are some good tips but the 3 wardens in home base is a round I have yet to beat. I also will just use the turret on banshee raiders

I haven’t encountered this round yet.
There doesn’t seem like there would be a good strategy to this.
Players would be funneled through corridors and can’t deal consistent damage to succeed.

Gotta use them reqs. Tanks, Fuel Rods, The Answers

Plasma pistol works great when pheatons appear or the banshee raiders. Makes it easier for teammates to kill.

I use my kinetic bolt weapons for Most of the match.

Warthog or scout hog works great in the early rounds when there are soldiers, crawlers and the covenant. Just run them over and get easy kills.

Can we gets tips for noctus when the first objective is to defend garage and by the time we get there from spawn it is a quarter way caped with 4 groups on prometheins inside and more coming? Then for objective 2 defend the core that is across the map from us and it is almost dead then we get there?

Just remember people, you CANNOT splatter a knight without a wraith.

Yes! A worthog or ghost will just make them mad! 2 shots from a tank will kill them of they are accurate shots.

The wasp works for a distance shooter. Just start far back enough to dodge their attacks and pepper them with ammo. You can’t get too close as they tend get wrecked by all the enemies.

spawn a ton of tanks and have others just shoot them with whatever they’ve got. Take out the knights before hand quick

They need to fix this issue for a couple different rounds.
It should let you get a headstart to make it to the objective first.

People dont realise how good the tank is at clearing enemies…
I remember in the BETA, every match i used the tank in, i got first place by a large margin and drastically carried the rest

It’s sad, but Defend the Garage is still a game ender for just about every game I’m in.

What happens… four to five players are in Wraiths, Ghosts, occassionally Tanks or Warthogs. Everyone is driving around the outside of the garage shooting in or mowing guys down outside. There’s then always two guys that get hit by one bullet and stop to find what was shooting them and/or to shoot back. They end up dead, having played 30 seconds and then wait 30 more just to do the same, never getting inside the base.

My strategy is to sprint toward the building. The second an enemy shoots me, I spartan charge to the side. As soon as I’m about in, I toss a grenade or two at the bulk of the enemies and head upstairs. From there, I worry about the crawlers first, then the soldiers, then the Knights. (If I happen to have teammates that get inside, then I worry more about the higher enemies.) I don’t worry a ton on getting a bunch of kills, though, I just try to spartan charge and run around the outside of the second floor and stay alive as much as I can, just to chew clock.

The problem is, I’m often the only one holding the base. I die and I’m stuck there watching as the mission fails as wraiths eventually get mowed down by phaetons and knights and noobs get mowed down in the dirt outside. And almost always, I see someone spawn (and waste) a vehicle REQ.

IMO, perfect strategy is one, maybe two Wraiths/Tanks outside to clean up Phaetons and take out as many Knights as they can before they get inside. A ghost or two on the bottom floor to drive in and out and mow down guys. And everyone else holding down the upstairs.

That being said with a competent team, it’s hardly impossible and one of the best challenges in WZFF. It’s just practically everyone’s geared in WZFF to call in vehicle REQs as soon as they reach them and it’s one of the few rounds where it’s an awful strategy to have 6 vehicles on the field.

Great tatics guys. A Halo group i’m in just killed Swarmlord via consistant damge and dividing and conquer with some Tanks. I suggest kill the elite primes before you get out of the four minute bracket and then divide and conquer the hunters.

Wraiths, Wraiths, Wraiths. Everyone else who not in a Wraith, bombard with weapons. Also, take them on one at a time, much easier if all fire is on the same one.
