Tips for skirmageddon

Hey all, based on another thread for gruntpocalypse, skirmageddon has always gotten me.

I’ve only manage one successful tactic in finding a bottleneck within reach of an ammo supply such as the small room on Installation 4.

Any other tips out there? Being in the open they swarm and evade grenades too well, death is nearly certain.

  1. Find bottlenecks
  2. Don’t go outside
  3. Use automatic weapons
  4. Let the enemy come to you, not the other way round

You want my honest opinion? Don’t play it, unless you like getting mad at games. I’m sure there are funner Firefight modes than this.

Get really good at twitch shooting. It’s the biggest thing to keep you alive, I think. My crowning moment is going 120/120 headshots, no deaths on Skirmigeddon on Waterfront.

Don’t let them intimidate you. Typically they will stand still when you’re firing at them with the DMR to give you a chance to headshot them. Also, try to get the height advantage or establish a “safe area”. You can pop out, headshot, then retreat for a shield recharge.

Let them come to you, as someone else mentioned “bottleneck them”.
Needle rifle & DMR.
Stay close to ammo crate.
Active Camo.
Corvette is a real good map for funneling them.

O yeah, and which automatic weapon? To the best of my knowledge, Needler is the only full-auto gun that one can found in Skirmigeddon, and it is extremely useless against a group of running, jumping and evading Skirmishers.
The best loadout is Needle Rifle as primary (pick up one ASAP), and DMR as secondary. A Plasma Pistol also can be a good choice if you can fire and aim quickly. The biggest advantage of the NR over the DMR is the bigger clip size and the faster fire rate. If you aim quickly and precisely at their heads, you can take out all of them without taking serious damage. The most important thing is that you must not get cornered or surrounded. That means an instant death almost every time. So find a bottleneck, dig in, and defend the area

I’m pretty good at Firefight but I have to admit I can’t beat Skirmishgeddon without a bottleneck. I use Beachhead (room w/two doors directly ahead of starting spawn), Holdout (stay in spawn room), and Corvette (also starting spawn room).

In any of those three it’s cake.

THIS THIS THIS!!
Never let them get behind you, that is where they will try and get to you.

I can not imagine, how did you survive an entire round of Skirmegeddon? I have to tell you, Skirmishers really bother me. Especially in Sniper Attack.

Courtyard is better. Drive the Forklift at the ramp (Near 2nd ammo crate) and block it. The Skirms will bottleneck every time.

And no. NO Automatics. Are you crazy? Unless you’re talking about a warthog or something :stuck_out_tongue:

I found on Installation 4, the ammo room farthest from the beginning spawn point to be a great bottleneck as well. I simply camp in there, fire back up into the ammo crate to reload without ever taking my eye off the doorway.

What this poster says! But for number 3 I would not recommend automatic weapons. Choose ither DMR or Grenader(if you know how to use it). Wipe them out quickly. The quicker you end the Skirmishers the better. They are fast and they will kill you easily. With the DMR you can shoot them in the head easily and with the ammo crate nearby you can reload anytime you wish. For armor ability I would recommend using Drop Shield. You need that shield if you get hit so many times by them and you need to recharge your health remember you only have a few health packs on the map.

Best suggestion for Skirmigeddon is to not play it. Skirmishers are bad and Bungie should feel bad.

I don’t think I’ve ever actually completed a game of Skirmigeddon.
