I haven’t really tried to do the campaign in any of the halo games before and I usually do it on heroic. I’ll readily admit that I’m not the best halo player, but I do think that I could do it on legendary, (I’ve already done the first mission on that difficulty, but it didn’t feel as hard as it actually is) I would just like to do so without driving myself to insanity. Any and all tips would be greatly appreciated.
against Elites, noob combo!
against promethian soldiers, suppressor until their helmet pops, then head shot.
against knights, Suppresor those yellow things on their side. then shoot when they growl
biggest advice i could give tbh. take your time as well.
well in most halo games there was definitely a much more complex strategy than in H5. However, there are still a few that you should use.
- Noob combo elites
- shoot soldiers until they stop, growl, and expose their orange faces. Then shoot their orange face for insta kill
- Shoot knights on their sides (the yellow circles) and then shoot their exposed faces, similar to soldiers
- Try and find the secret REQ weapons and vehicles (ie Wraith ultra and the answer)
- Dont pick up useless weapons (like the boltshot, its useless in campaign)
- Take your time
- Use your allies. Tell them to pick up weapons and vehicles that u are not using at the moment
- Not sure if this applies to this game (it worked in other Halos), but give marines and other spartans power weapons (rocket launcher is great), since they have unlimited ammo. Characters with primary dialogue are invincible, and if u see them, give them power weapons.
- If you need help, look up guides. They will give u the best tips and tricks.

Thanks, but do you have anything for Hunters? All I got is find the biggest weapon and aim for the orange parts. Is there anyway to chip off some of their armor?

no, just get close to them, make them lunge at you, then side step and either melee or shoot them in the orange part of their back
- Always try to keep a headshot weapon – DMR, BR, LR, Carbine, or Magnum. Other than vehicles, the Warden, (maybe Watchers?) and turrets, enemies generally can be dispatched much quicker than otherwise if you can, at the right moment, pop 'em one. Maybe not always, but y’know. Not having one should be something you keep in mind when you don’t have one. Grunts, jackals and crawlers can become a serious hazard if you can’t clear them up quickly. - Your second gun should be more adaptable. Don’t be afraid to expend power weapons – if you have a rocket launcher, use it. Corollary: if you are in a situation that happens to be bad for a power weapon (such as rockets against a lot of aerial targets), don’t feel like you have to use it then and there. You’ll want plasma weapons to handle elites, and automatic weapons (especially suppressors) to handle soldiers. - Whenever you can, fight at distances where the enemy can’t shoot back. Don’t need to be proud. - There are many encounters in campaigns that are, strictly speaking optional – don’t feel like you have to finish every fight to the bitter end. Again: don’t need to be proud. - Similar to power weapons: use your grenades. Use vehicles. Use the things that the level designers put in play for you to benefit from. - Halo 5 lets you give your fireteam orders - the button’s always the same, but what your reticle is at when you press it decides the order. If you don’t give your team orders, they’ll be somewhat slow to respond to changing circumstances. Try ordering them to take on enemies that you aren’t engaging. In theory, you’d want to keep giving such orders as they knock off targets, based on what you need dead that you can’t handle at the moment. But I won’t pretend to have achieved that level of enlightened composure in heated firefights. - Halo 5 Hunters are just impossible in melee range. Don’t get near the damn things. Try to get at its orange squishy backside. And when you kill one hunter, get even farther away from the other one. In Halo 5, the last hunter standing is a murder machine.

aren’t hunters like that in all of the halo games?

They’re going to kill you in one punch in every Halo game, yes. But there are various tactics to deal with them in melee-range in every other Halo. In the first game, all you have to do is circle them and punch; they’ll only continue to rotate, as long as they can’t get within 30 degrees of directly facing you. In Halo 2, 3 and 4, they have more melee options, but you can generally jump over their heads and weave in and out of their melee range to bait wild swings. In ODST and Reach that’s maybe less viable (since your jump isn’t as pronounced), but you can still weave back and forward with their melee range, and circle a bit.
None of that is viable in Halo 5. All of their melees strike within half a second of the animation starting. They’re simply too fast. Maybe someone with great reflexes on the thruster could evade their strikes in something resembling the back-and-forth baiting. But hunters also have that automatic firing option in Halo 5, which tracks. And their main projectile is quite fast on legendary, making it almost a certain death if they shoot it at you while you’re within 5 meters of them.
honestly man, just take ur time. team mates can take fire for you, i used them as a distraction most of the time put them on turrets to. i thought the campaign was the easiest… the only section i truly struggled on was the 3 warden fighht… @_@
Halo 5 campaign is by far the easiest Solo Legendary campaign of all the halo games. Just keep ordering your teammates to kill ppl and its easy peasy
Use cover, always shoot near cover.
Know where snipers and tanks are.
Take out small enemies first.
Aim for the head.
You are not Rambo<<<
Always or almost always have a Plasma Pistol and any precision weapon against most covenant. Forerunners you can use precision weapons and fully automatic weapons. Hunters you need power weapons and you need to be able to learn and judge their movements. Don’t try to rush it cause you will die multiple times. Use your A.I. automates and either A: focus fire on one enemy. Or B: use them however you want strategically for you. Good luck!
Well I’m about to start the third mission now, wish me luck!
Obligratroy Don’t, the campaign sucks response.

Too late, I’m an Achievement Hunter and once I set my sights on one I get it. Besides everybody here are giving me great tips, it would all go to waste if I didn’t put it to use.
Take your time and reload often. Keep a plasma pistol with you for elites. Have some sort of explosive or sniper for soldiers and knights. Have explosives for Warden. Keep your distance from any enemy. Find cover. Watch out for enemy snipers because jackals kill 1-hit like in every other halo.
It does take quite a while to beat on Legendary by yourself.
Gotta go fast Sonic
I’ve finished mission 3 & 4, I’ll do mission 5 and maybe 6 tomorrow.
I finished both mission 5 and 6, and I’m never doing 6 ever again. NEVER AGAIN!!!
