Hey guys, so Ive played halo for years for fun but the multiplayer in 5 is very intense! I manage to rank about middle of the pack for the most part in warzone but arena stumps me! So, has anyone got any awesome tips that I can try out when I get on in a few hours??
Thanks!
Lower your sensitivity. Don’t aim down site unless very far. Use your pistol at medium to long range. Aim mainly with your left stick. Buy an elite and play on default with paddles for jump and boost. Play on a monitor and not a TV. Play with USB connected.
I go and talk with Onyx players and Champions. A great nugget of knowledge I got from the exchange was “How many kills you get matters less than how many times you don’t die” “Damage dealt and assists tell a lot about how you were playing in any particular match” additionally a good nugget was "When you die don’t sprint back to the fight, take it slow and make sure the areas around you are clear, then listen for the callouts and try and help via long range shot or nades"The last thing was good players know when to disengage from an enemy. If you can get 2-3 shots in a guy and get away alive, do it. Don’t be afraid to run away or thrust away from engagements you WILL lose 100%.

When I started playing Halo, I played on my TV… When Halo 3 came out, I went and bought a big 70" TV, thinking it would be sooo great to play. But I started doing horrible. The pros were playing on small computer monitors. That totally made sense. With a massive TV, I was all over the place because my eyes were all over the place.
So playing with a smaller computer monitor helps, first and foremost.
I don’t really know I would have to see how you play and stuff to really understand where to help out… id just say keep the b button handy and don’t always sprint into rooms
Shoot people on the head, that seems to work most of the time
One of the quickest ways to take someone out is to throw a grenade at their feet, then shoot them in the head immediately after the explosion. Use it against enemies who don’t know you’re near them. If you want to sneak up on someone, crouch and move. You won’t appear on radars that way.
Strafe, dont chase and dont challenge when you are a shot down.
These are all great guys, thanks! I tested a few out last night and worked well even for my first attempts! Any other great snippets of wisdom??
Stick with it. It takes some time to get used to

Practice strafing and having a good head aim. Also get good at menovering around the maps.
Go to twitch and watch some pros play, watch what they do in certain situations and apply that to your game.
Buy a pro controller
$150. Buy a pair of astros
$350. Buy a monitor
$200.
You’ll be pro in a week
Posters already have given some excellent advice. My own observations in addition to theirs:
In Slayer, try to stay with at least 1 other team mate to prevent yourself from facing opposition of 2 or 3 on 1. You want to be on the positive side of a 2, 3 or 4 on 1! In FFA, don’t rush into fights, hang back and listen for a fight begin and then come into it late so you can catch 3 or more players so focused on killing each other you can take 1 or more out yourself. Practice strafing and headshots—especially with the Magnum, BR, and DMR. These weapons get more kills than any other. If using power weapons (rockets, Plasma Caster, Fuel Rod, Hydra), make sure you know how to use them effectively since they have limited ammo.
Also, watch some pro gameplay matches on Twitch or You Tube to get ideas of how to move on maps, weapon techniques and team play.
Above all, practice, DON’T GET DISCOURAGED we all suck at times (I do even now), and have FUN!
Good luck!
Ok guys, thank you so much for the tips! Im going on in an hour so I will definitely practise my strafing and try getting more headshots instead of body shots. Im a tad hesitant using power weapons since I’ve been betrayed a few times for my weapon or defenses break leaving me against multiple enemies which take my weapon. I really enjoy the DMR when I pick one up, if only the req gods could give me one in my next pack.
Any more tips you lovely pros have??

I agree!
Go on youtube and look up a channel called luke the notable, he has made tons of halo tips videos
Hey guys, so quick update.
I followed your tips and I think I’ll take a while getting used to but overall it’s great! I checked out a bit on twitch and youtube like you said and I think a few tips are a bit advanced for me (toggling crouch while battling is something my hands cant handle yet!) But I think I’m slowly improving!
Thanks for all the help guys and I hope I can halo with you sometime!

Hi
I’m an average/medium player myself but one of biggest weaknesses is getting angry when I make bad plays or the enemy team is crushing us.
So try to keep calm and when you have several bad games, take a break: get something to drink, open your window, maybe play a Custom Game with some friends to relax and then get back to Arena.
Also, I would avoid (normal) Warzone, if you’re tilted: I think, it can get much more frustrating than the Arena-Playlists! But maybe that’s just my Illusion
Hopfully I could help you somewhat
