Tips for elite controller??

Hey people, today in ordering a brand new Xbox one elite controller which should arrive in 4-7 days. Before then, I want to know some tips on how to make accuracy optimal etc.

What sticks should I use?

What settings do I need to change? (Heard something about the plasma pistol not working)

I currently use Helljumper and Send 4 looks sens 2, will I need to change that?

I also plan on using 2 paddles to begin with, I’m thinking about using one for Thruster and maybe melee or crouch.

Thanks in advance!

If you use the trigger locks, you’ll be unable to charge the Plasma Pistol or the Plasma Caster.

There’s a way to adjust the trigger sensitivity to change that, but I’m not sure how it’s done.

Download the Xbox Accessories app. You will be able to change everything from thumb-stick behavior to your trigger sensitivity.

I do have that app.

How much sensitivity do the triggers need in order for the PP and PC to charge while using the locks?

On that, I have no idea. I think a generally good idea is to duplicate the Halo 5 pre-settings that come with the app and edit everything from there to make sure the deadzones allow for charging weapons.

Honestly, I use only 1 of 4 paddles… and default sticks.

Recon controls… paddle mapped to melee. It allows for more natural feeling Ground Pounds and spinning melees.

The sticks are great though. I’ve used the controller excessively for the last 6 months or so and it still feels brand new in terms of how it’s held up. Definitely a great purchase!

I charge with the right trigger. 0-10 is sufficient for me to charge weapons.

You absolutely can charge. Just have the triggers engage at 50% rather than 100%

Dang… I’ve purchased three controllers(over time, not all at once), and the wife got me one for Christmas… Every one of them has broken. The left soft button always breaks. I ended up getting a fix-it kit from amazon.

But other than that, the controller is awesome. Better than the 4 scuf controllers I’ve had over the years.

I have it set on recon with two paddles. Left paddle is jump, right paddle is melee. It feels more natural that way for me.

Maybe you should try not throwing your controllers mengg… :stuck_out_tongue: I mean I get mad at the game too but…

Hahahaha! Those soft buttons are just poorly made.

Do most people with elites use recon? Seen a lot of people who have elites use recon.

I use, and have used for quite some time now, Bumper Jumper, with Look Sensitivity 3, Horizontal 1.5, and Vertical 3, which is the Default sensitivity. Look Acceleration 3. I am thinking about upping this to 4 or 5, but I haven’t decided yet.

I have concave sticks for both left and right with the T, D-pad. I use all four paddles with the X, A on the right for Thrust and Sprint, and the Y, B on the left for Switch Weapon and reload. I turned off all the face buttons to help me get used to the paddles. I do this so I never take my right thumb off the stick.

Now the trigger stops I have set for both and set both the left and right trigger to 50. This allows for the PP charge, and the idea that my shot is faster. Finally, the Left and Right stick are set to Default with all Vibration off.

That’s all I can think of. I love my Elite. I plan on always having two to have a back up. I always use it wired. I will never be pro, but I definitely feel the difference in my play style and shot. I am still working on things, and will always be. I recommend playing around with the settings and play FF to get used to it. Good luck, and have fun!

Turn the trigger locks on for the shooting button, and leave them off for the aiming one. I find that this helps.

I use helljumper with 4/2 and I didn’t have an issue when I got my elite. You just need to get used to the smoother feeling sticks and whatever paddles ect. you choose to add.

Thanks for responding, this really helps. Have a good day sir!

Hmm…I never thought of doing this. Pretty cool suggestion. Thanks.

Here’s a vid on the simple fix: Elite Plasma Charge Fix

Ya, with the trigger locks it’s somewhat annoying to hold it down for long periods of time (Arclight I’m looking at you.) That’s why I like to have a soft aim if I have something like a sniper.

Before my elite controller broke, I used the following settings.

Button Layout : Bumper Jumper
Paddle 1 : Thrust (X)
Paddle 2 : Crouch (Press Left Stick)

Sensitivity : 3
Acceleration : 4
Assassinations Off
Vibration Off
