Tips for beating legendary Prometheans?

So on Legendary I have always gotten a lot of mileage (and I mean A LOT) out of the plasma pistol and a precision weapon. Headshots for everything except Elites, which get a plasma overcharge and then a headshot. This method is so great because there are always plasma pistols in abundance from the Grunts.

I am aware that this method is nothing new or special, but I am wondering if there is a similar sort of tactic for taking on the Prometheans? The crawlers are obvious. Headshots. The Knights are obvious. Hit the glowing spots first. But what about the soldiers? Any tips and/or tricks?

Thanks in advance. I’m currently on the mission Unconfirmed and having a fun go of it, but I can’t help but thinking there’s an easier way beyond Shoot Them A Lot.

Therein lies my hate for soldiers. You have to do some odd amount of damage first before hitting their weak point.
I honestly think all there is that you can do is sink as many bullets into them as you can until they glow, and that’s really all that I’ve been able to do.
They also teleport, so that makes them a lot easier to fight, right?

Try using the suppressor rifle. When their armor “pops”, headshot them.
