I am having the hardest time aiming with every gun, I am all over the place with every gun and can not even get body shots with the AR most of the time. I am just horrible, I have messed around with the controller settings and so far the best is having everything at 1%, I can not understand how some place headshots with the handgun across the map and get kills so easy. I not good at Halo regardless but I want to improve, and at least make it enjoyable. All my kills have been coming from melee or just using strategy predicting other player movements and timing gernade kills. Any tips?
Try turning “aim acceleration” down to 0 in the settings. That’s what worked for me, what it does is makes you look faster when the stick is pushed all the way to the edge.
play campaign, aiming is just muscle memory, the more you do it, the better you’ll get.

Or turn it up.
I go with
Inner deadzone: 5
Outter Deadzone: 9
Sensitivity: 5
Aim Acceration: 4
Those settings give me a more 1:1 style of reticle control (IMO, a more natural movement speed).
Aiming is actually about 60% strafe…
Use your left stick to guide your aim with player movement, and then your right stick to fine-tune your shot as you fire.

What this guy said.
Also find an aiming setting with acceleration and everything and DONT CHANGE IT!
For ar, i literally will literally spam my finger on the trigger so it shoot 1 kr 2 bullets per tap, or burst about 3, or hold, depending on the distance
Br pistole and dmr i aim then shoot, so pace your shots.
Beyond that i dont use many other weapons to often so cant give too much advice.
Just practice. My aim is big time left stick and fine tune right stuck. I also have an elite controller so i use the extended right stuck. But you can get stuck extenders inplace of that.
Practice. Halo 5’s aiming is a lot different since the introduction of ADS, since it does make a difference hip firing compared to ADSing someone from across the map, get use to hipfiring close up, and ADS’ing from a distance.
With people talking about control’s, your inner and outer deadzone don’t matter too much, it’s just to do with the stray away and acceleration when you press the thumbstick to one side, Usually 0% for inner, and 10% for outer is basic.
Lastly, constantly move when engaging, get better strafing, crouching shots and jumping shots. Strafing should always be a first, if they can’t hit you, gives you a chance to hit them first. Crouching shots and jumping shots are situational, 80% of the time when you jump or crouch the enemy usually misses a few shots, since it’s harder to pop head shots while the spartan is moving in which direction.
Oh, and you’re pistol is your closest friend, get acquainted with that and you should do fine.
Have fun, spartan!
