We’re hopeful that the first Technical Flight takes place this weekend.
Weekends make the most sense. The flights are only going to run for a few days… and they will naturally want the maximal output.
But if was going to happen this weekend… what’s the latest they would announce it? We would need a few days warning… and at the very least there would have to be time for everyone to download the files… which could be decent in size.
Just that we are rapidly heading towards mid-week… and at what point can we say - nah, not this week?
I have my business email linked to my insider account and I can confidently say: nothing yet. I have checked every day for the past week and not a single email from 343.
I have a strong feeling that we will know as soon as the first invite is sent. They confirmed they would release an update ahead of time so we will get that but I’m sure users will be creating topics left right and centre saying “CHECK YOUR EMAILS, I’M IN”.
I do hope they confirm ahead of time so we can get excited. It’s crazy how on Nintendo Direct they have a game trailer and say it can be downloaded right now. Then you check the store and it’s up. I hope that isn’t the case with this.
I’m so excited for the beta and hope it is this weekend and I can play.

I actually don’t think this is the case. There were a couple of influencers who were going all “I’m special because I got mail” over a mail they recieved reminding them of signing up for the insider program and not actually being invited in directly.
Seems to me they need to take the proper channels like everyone else.

Not really, wasn’t like that for the past fights and considering this is game testing they probably need more then a couple hundred people, on top of that why would they bother announcing the flights and hyping it up for us if only halotubers get in?

Luckily for you that will also be available. I prefer commentary when I watch gameplay personally, otherwise I’d rather be playing the game. Most cases I’d rather be playing it tbh.
I think they should prioritise popular streamers and content creators as this will help the popularity of the game which is essential for longevity. It’s a good idea to get them playing against recruit bots at first actually, they can make cool plays and the streams will be casual and allow them to speak, do well in the game and show off the game. Earning lots of medals, getting kills and exploring the map freely. I think it will encourage a lot of people to try it out.
Of course I also hope we are all invited and it’s not just streamers and content creators that get first taste of the game. I can understand why they would be prioritised though.

Haha I really feel you but let’s be honest. If an influencer makes any content with flighting gameplay you will want to watch it just because we’re all way to excited about infinite.
Don’t worry about missing an invite in your spam folder or anything. You both get a notification by email and waypoint.

Probably already said it but eh I might aswell say it too. Unyshzek (apologies if that has been butchered) has stated that dates for Flighting will be dropped ahead of time if I am not incorrect on that statement. They are hoping that it will be dropped this weekend and if so I’d keep a close eye out tomorrow through Friday. Invites will most likely be on the day it drops or a day before hand. Because to me a 3 to 2 day notice gets people prepared for the flights. So eyes open.

I’m not so sure about that. They said in the recent inside infinite that the first public flight would be open to hundreds of thousands of players.

Generally, if no invites come out by 5- 8PM Eastern time on the indicated day then you can count on the flight not happening that day.
From my experience with MCC flights, their predicted flight dates are about as good as predicting the weather a month ahead of time. I am pretty doubtful that Infinite flighting will actually start this weekend. What tends to happen is the flight gets delayed and Insiders are kept out of the loop until the very last minute. With the Halo 4 flight, the day they gave came and went with no flight then later they were like “no, the flight will not be happening now.” Then it dropped on some random day the next week without any warning.
They said there was going to be some overview video before the flight, so we should look for that. Of course, the question is how long from when that drops to when invites come out. Invites can take a few hours to actually get to you, so they might release it simultaneously. From my experience it is somewhat rare to get an accurate flight date 3 days to a week ahead of time. Usually what happens is the flight either happens on the date they give or it doesn’t and you’re pretty much kept out of the loop until they decide to drop it. We’ll see if they took any of the feedback from the MCC flighting. The best thing to do is to keep checking back here on Waypoint because that’s where you would get invited. I would say if by 8 PM Eastern time on Sunday we have nothing then we can say “no, the flight isn’t happening this week”.

We’ll either get a tweet about this coming either today or tomorrow, and a live stream on Wednesday or Thursday if they want it to start this weekend.
Plus, they have multiple bot difficulties and they said they would slowly increase content / difficulty on a daily basis so I imagine this flight will likely last at least 3 days. Closer to a week I’d imagine.
I’m expecting first week of August if we don’t get an update on the livestream soon.
