Is there gonna be any halo Infinite news soon or any new media pre halo infinite?
We won’t know until we know. Devs don’t typically announce when they’ll announce news; they just announce the news itself when it’s ready.
Personally I’m not expecting any updates until early 2019. Given how recent E3 was, I don’t think anything significant will have been developed in time for a showing at Gamescom. But by early 2019 I think it’s reasonable to expect a story trailer, maybe with a launch date. Then 9 months later or so, a beta; maybe earlier if they do a series of flights.

I meant more speculation rather then them announcing when they would say something. It just disappoints me that we have to wait another most likely 2 years for this game

Would you have preferred no announcement at all? Always seems like a lose lose situations for devs. Don’t announce anything and people get impatient for info. Then they give the players an announcement and they’re still impatient. Can’t win.
Take solace in the fact that American game devs are on pretty strict time tables; Microsoft cancelled Scalebound partly because Platinum wasn’t on schedule. And I’m sure Microsoft is antsy to make revenue on a flagship franchise again, so they won’t let 343 take too long. Plus many AAA devs have started making announcements for a game that’s about a year away from launch (unless delays occur, which happens).
You want to be concerned about when a game will come out? Think about Cyberpunk 2077. CDPR gets subsidies from the government so they really take their time with games. Kojima also takes his sweet time.

Personally I would’ve rather had them not create a new engine and just made halo infinite on the engine they already had and just improved upon it and added the old art style.Going back to the no info thing I think they should of held out till early 2019 to announce something so they would have had something more substantial compared to just a engine demo
Anything substantial? I’m guessing not for a long time.

Unfortunate, but I agree.Mcc is being fixed, but idk how that will hold people over for 2 plus years
Yeah I think it will be early 2019 before we hear anything major.
There is a special episode of Inside Xbox from Gamescom next week but I am not sure if anyone from 343i is set to be there??

I completely disagree with you on the engine. 343i said in more than one case that the Halo engine was hard to work with for someone that hasn’t directly coded for it - and basically all of them are at Bungie!
The newest Halo engine was fairly up to date from what I can tell, but Slipspace in the long run will help the franchise a lot! Not to mention the extra time can grant more polish and all major content released day one, something H5G was clearly missing imho. Also we shouldn’t forget that PS5 and Xbox Scarlett are behind the corner already.
Investing in future-proof tech is always worth it. It’s better that 343 develop a new engine compatible with next gen hardware now rather than have to go through with all of that later. The more time you have to get used to using your new tools, the better.
As for the early announcement, I think it is for the best. It has been (almost) 3 years since Halo 5 came out and making the community wait 4 (!) years just for an announcement would probably ruffle some feathers something fierce. Just look back on how Valve’s community got increasing irate at the company for their complete refusal to talk about Episode 3/Half Life 3. Waiting 2 years for Halo:Infinite is a helluva lot better than wondering if it even exists.
I would like to get something before 2019 hits. Even a few screenshots or anything. Maybe even just a simple update confirming some fan theories. Split screen already confirmed, maybe they can confirm playable elites or the return of WZ, something like that would be great.

Let’s assume your idea about the time table is correct, and the game is ~2 years away. How does it change whether current Halo offerings will “hold people over” until Infinite if the announcement had been held off until 2019? People would still be waiting the same amount of time for the new game, the only difference being when they knew for sure the new game was coming. If no announcement had been made, you’d have people coming here being like “Hey, when is the next Halo game going to be announced? What’s taking them so long? If they don’t announce something soon people will lose interest in Halo, and they can’t afford that.” So now that we have an announcement, regardless of how far away it is, we at least know its coming. And you think that if they take too long to develop it, people will still leave Halo and lose interest. The result ends up being the same.
Also, Halo 3 and Halo 4 announcements were just teasers that lacked anything substantial. In both cases, the actual game launched ~1.5 years after the first teaser. For both those games, several months passed between the initial announcement and the next bit of information released. I think that trend is more telling than some arbitrary guess that Infinite is 2+ years out. I wouldn’t be surprised if a Q4 2019 release ended up happening for Infinite. Maybe Q1 2020 if they need extra time.
