Do you think the timed Anniversary achievements will be affected by reverting to checkpoints? For example, if I die, will the time reset to the time logged at my previous checkpoint or will it continue?
Example:
Death at 15:45 into the mission
Last checkpoint at 15:10
Will the time reset to 15:10 or remain at 15:45?
I’m looking forward to the challenge. I haven’t played the Library in awhile so I’m not sure how long it actually used to take me, but from what I can remember it sounds like it’ll be tough.

The player in this speedrun cut everytime he/she died. Coincidentally, I was using this video to guide myself, and it took me 40 mins. And I died, many times…

Nope, that video is a single segment run, which is actually why it’s so “slow”; the current segmented record for The Library is only 13:28 (note that in THIS video, you can tell the segmentation by the fact that the checkpoints have a noticeable interface/sound clunkiness to them).
I also wouldn’t recommend using a speedrun as a guide; people who make those videos spend a bajillion attempts to get them right*.
What I would recommend is just learning to dance with the Flood. Knowing how to move around and shoot while not being shot and hit badly. If you fight Flood as though they were Covenant, you’re just going to get boxed in a lot.
*Especially the person who did that speedrun, Riptor. He’s the guy who did all the absurdly difficult runs that nobody else has ever had the balls to try, like solo legendary T&R; his record still stands despite being very unoptomized and including a really, really bad death.

My bad, it just seemed like they were cuts because he died. Anyways, some of his tactics really helped reduce my time, so I will try to identify my areas of trouble and alter my gameplay so I won’t die.

Not everyone’s cut out for implementing speedrun strategies…

But then I noticed this post.
Yeah this. Sometimes you have to improvise. Often, you have to manipulate the AI. For example, fire your gun, Flood will be flocking to your position like seagulls. If there’s a way to get to higher ground and go around them, you can get them all fragged + rockets.
