…and almost every game I’m being paired up with Diamonds that are lower than level 50.
I’ve only just finished my third placement match, I don’t know if I can take this much longer.
It’d help if my team wasn’t Gold in all fairness.

plus it seems like you are always playing with/against people from across the world so the servers are laggy.

To be fair, it isn’t really the ranking system that is the problem. It is moreso lack of population (which H2/H3 had much more people playing) and smurf accounts who ruin the ability to match people fairly (since typically those who play on smurfs are higher than their skill level on that account).
I will miss Team Arena when its gone though, they really should just make it unranked to replace the Team Skirmish playlist.

I don’t really have a problem with smurfs. I do agree that they can mess up the experience for players who aren’t as skilled or competitive. Me personally, I am just not a fan of the ranking system lol

That does nothing other than say “focused” if it takes a certain amount of time it will expand the search to find you games faster.
Finally got placed, in Platinum 3.
Could be worse, but the amount of smurfs is ridiculous.

Halo 5 uses the same ranking system as Halo 3, with only visual differences and the top end exposed

If only the general populace knew this. I used to know where the article that explains what each tier matches up to level wise. I wish I still remembered.

Also I just played my ten placement matches, and I didn’t run into one smurf. I am thinking this is not as prevalent as one might think.

i’d expect everything related to halo 5 to be under halo 5.
Wow that’s your response to someone directing you to a wealth of information that you obviously didn’t know about before?! Why wouldn’t it be in matchmaking and feedback? It helps keep things consolidated.
It is nice to have a place to go to where a 343 dev is keeping us updated. It’s a lot of information. I am slowly getting through it, and I’m glad to be reminded it was here.

I was just curious, and I looked at your placement matches. I am not sure why you made this claim, since I could only find 1 out of your 10 matches that more than likely had a smurf account working for one other player.
I also looked at every player that was a Diamond, and if I remember correctly there were only two that were around SR 50 which could be explained by the fact that that’s all they play, but also they are usually teamed up with some lower ranked players to help themselves rank up and I didn’t see evidence of that.
You did have a few lop sided matches, but the majority were fairly close. I think it’s important to try and be as accurate as possible when making claims like this.
It seems to me that the ranking system has gotten better over time. I have played in every season except the last one, and so far in the 63 games I have played so far in Team Arena I have only found one group that I met up with twice where it was obvious they were smurfing. There may have been one or two others, but that group stood out because of the player who was the smurf had over 30 kills both games and no gamerscore.
In other words not a whole lot of smurfs running around in my opinion definitely not like they were before. Now I am speaking specifically of Team Arena. When I placed in FFA there seemed to be quite a few there if I remember correctly.
