Time to add maps 343

I just read an article translated from gamescom and it was an interview about future DLC. From what I gathered looks like Awakening the nightjmare may be the last big push for paid DLC. I’m okay with that. 16 leaders after ATN I feel is very solid and a good amount to try for balancing. During the interview it does say that the devs will then focus on integrating the different leaders and balancing things out after ATN for multiplayer. That’s actually great news and I can understand them not doing it as frequent and as much considering new leaders and units have been dropping every month.

With that being said. 343 if you want this game to gain legs and run rampant in the multiplayer community it’s going to need a whole slew of new maps. My hope is that after the expansion, as they are focusing on the multiplayer side of things like they said… they will be adding a ton of new maps.

343/CA it is essential for an RTS to have a nice mix of different maps to wage war on. 16 leaders is absolutely fine. I’ll always take more but I think that it’s more than a fair amount to balance so I’m happy with that. However, after ATN, 10 Deathmatch, 1 Terminus Firefight, and 1 Blitz map won’t be enough to keep people playing for years to come. I’d consider at least releasing a free map every month for a bit or having a map pack month. Focus your energy on that as well.

I can’t say anything about further down the line, but along with ATN, everyone is getting 2 free maps. It’s a start.

Correct. I’m excited for these two but yes afterwards we need more. With these two that will put it up to 10 total for deathmatch. Not enough I feel. Here’s hoping that these two are phenomenal!

I’d love to see some more maps. Maybe even have those weaker rebel/forerunner/flood occupying a base slot for us to have a little bit of practice on.
