Time specific disconnects

Yesterday and today I would play halo and CoD with no problems until about 4-5pm US central time. Both days I would play 3-5 minutes of a Warzone game and then suddenly disconnect. Yesterday I was on wireless, so I went and bought a new ethernet cable only to have the same issue today despite having over 300+ Mbps speeds with zero other people in my house using the internet. I’ve received the banhammer twice for this and it is almost certainly not my issue.

Hard reset my xbox one X and disconnected again after 4 minutes of a game passed. Network speed tests before and after were all 300+ with low latency.

Edit Edit: Played 2 games to completion then had the same issue again. I can only assume I get thrown onto international servers because I live in Texas?

I have three suggestions. First, try using Energy Saver mode on your Xbox if you are not already. Second, try and change your search preferences to Balanced or Focused, again if you are not already. Lastly, check if your NAT is open. You can try forwarding ports (Reddit is a great resource for info on this topic) or enabling UPnP (again, Reddit is a great resource for this). Hope this helps!

So I saw this just now, but today you can see on my service record that I had played a lot of Warzone with no issue at all only to lag out of a game after 5pm hit. Now I am struggling to get back into Halo.

Played 8 games today before the 9th game bled past 5pm. At 5:03pm I got disconnected from my game. How does this make any sense?

Are there any changes in your household at that time? As in, do more people hop on the internet at that time or use certain devices/appliances?

Could also be a local network bandwidth capacity issue. Do you live near any data centres or even big businesses which may ne doing large scale data transfers outside normal working hours?

I know that where I used to live my internet speeds were majorly affected by the University near me and online play around midnight became impossible due to overnight network traffic from them

I was the only one living in that house, so no. I would just get dropped for 2 hrs once 5pm hit.

BUT, I moved states for a job so who knows if this will be a problem anymore.

Definitely wasn’t an issue with a sudden rush of people as while I did live in a university town it had only become a sudden issue. The cities grid was able to support thousands of concurrent Zoom calls and all of that during the day.

Yeah the issue for me was always rhe University’s daily backup cycle rather than people

Well I did undergrad and then graduate school there in various housing locations and never had a issue ever.
