Time limit for death match

Am I the only one that thinks death match goes on far too long, it makes it really boring and no fun to play. That is why I only play when I have to e.g. for challenges.
What should be done is a time limit put in of 30 minutes and if no one has won by then, the team score is taken in to count and which ever team has done more wins, it would save a lot of wasted time playing just going backwards and forwards.

I personally think that the lack of a time limit is what buzzes that sense of “The battle isn’t over till it’s over”, or unless someone leaves, and allows the enemy or ally to swoop in and steal the win.
Having a time limit might actually be kind’ve at some points if you ask me, where you didn’t get to finish the fight, or die trying you know?
You may think it’s boring, but through the battles and waits, there is some intensity to knowing what your enemy is up to, how to counter it, and just how long it will take to finally emerge victorious, as well as the fun of saying “Oh my jeebus that battle went for 40 minutes!”, which might sound derogatory but can be used to remember what beautiful match it was that you endured and somehow won, or somehow lost when you thought you had the advantage!

Than again, it is an RTS, and having a time limit just isn’t part of the genre. If you don’t have time to play the game, than might as well just not play.

I see what you mean, what they could do to help is have another death match mode, which has a time limit for people that want to do there challenges and not spend too long doing it and you still have the normal mode for everyone who wants to play without a time limit

Truth in bold.
I make the mistake too often of winding up in an hour long game when I was supposed to leave for work in 20.

What do you mean by “if no one has won after 30 minutes?” Are you saying that once one team gets an extra stronghold than you they win and the game is over? Lol

Some of the best matches I’ve had are the 30-45 minute… back and forth, until someone finally makes a mistake. The most memorable ones being the constant base switching… never having a main, just a temporary. Lol

A time limit would destroy the point of Deathmatch. It’s a fight to the death.

If you want other game modes with time limits, try Strongholds and whatever the heck the other one is called and Blitz

My favorite RTS match ever went on for almost 2 hours. Halo Wars 1, one of our team got disconnected halfway through, me and my friend held them off wave after wave until they left the game.
