Tighten the banhammer

I’m all for punishing quitters but the current system does not seem to be working maybe they should either change it to system where quitting prevents you from acquiring req points or xp for a certain amount of time or add this to the current system like if you quit two games in a row you receive a ban then when the ban is up you can play again but you will receive no xp or req for 12 hours and it should apply to arena and war zone

I disagree. Instead I think a more social playlist with no bans for quitting, where players can JIP would cut down the casual players from playing on ranked playlists, which would cut down on the quitters in that playlist. I think tightening the banhammer will continue to drive players away from Halo.

Thanks Satan

I think its fine the way it is.

Yes push people further away from the game with the largest population drop in halo history that will certainly help the game

if 343i want to stop quitting they need to provide a much better experience than the l e they have

I agree… however I quickly sent a message to someone this morning in a warzone game … it took about 30 seconds… I get back and I have been kicked for inactivity… REALLY? 30 seconds. come on!

I feel the ban is a waste. if someone quits for some reason twice, that’s just more and more people being banned. i lose connection sometimes and i get banned!

Achieves nothing? It gives a reason for players to not quit a game, that’s a pretty solid amount of achieving.

Banhammer doesn’t really work when people get kicked from the game because of connection issues I honestly don’t think with the amount of people complaining about quitters that they are all truly quitters I bet a lot if not most lag out it’s happened to me quite a bit and I’m wired and pay for 100mbps (not saying that’s what I actually get) but I’m not a quitter. If they fixed the server issues or found a way to keep games from getting lop sided after someone leaves like either the game ends immediately and the team that was winning gets more xp and rp but doesn’t affect csr or something I don’t know what the solution is but clearly something isn’t working

It sure does. I was getting stomped two games in a row last night… really wanted to quit but I didn’t. But I wonder how many players there are that want to play Halo, but don’t want to deal with getting stomped because their teammates left them, and there is no playlist that allows JIP, so they do not play at all.

Quitters are going to quit regardless. It doesn’t stop quitting. It’s a scare tactic that does not work.

Actually, now that I think about it… I did not quit because I didn’t want to be banned, I didn’t quit because I wanted the RP

The ban hammer should be tightened. At a competitive level when your rank matters it’s frustrating when your teammates quit out because that is an instant loss.

Look at MCC’s newest update for example. 1’s-50’s can now match each other. When 2 50’s in hardcore end up with 1’s on their team against a team of 4, the 1’s can’t compete so they quit. When it becomes a 2v4 the 50’s lose. In MCC now the lower ranks have nothing to lose when they quit because they don’t care.

If you quit from a ranked playlist in H5 you go down quite a bit. If you quit that shows you don’t care about your rank. If you quit out in a playlist that matters you should be forced to play social for quite sometime so you can learn your lesson because truth be told you never cared in the first place. The point of ranked is to be competitive, if you quit it defeats the purpose that was set in place for said playlist. You shouldn’t be banned from matchmaking, but banned from ranked for a day, 2 days, 3 days etc etc etc.

That’s an issue with the servers then, not the banhammer

Yea what you said about social is a good idea.

It does work though. If there was no punishment for quitting, then it would happen way more.

Plus, for those that do quit anyways, they get a ban. During that ban they can’t join games that they might quit out of, stopping that much more quitting.

They could do the thing they did in gears where if you legitimately quit you get a xp (and reqs in this case) penalty next game, this would keep people from quitting as much and it wouldnt be worth it for people to turn off and on their internet every time

I think they should lift the banhammer on leaving social matches and Warzone, but add additional deterrents to leaving ranked matches. In case you people don’t get it LEAVING IS NOT OK. If you’re losing, suck it up and realize you aren’t as good as you think you are. Learn from your mistakes and get better. What OP mentioned about restricting the amount of XP and RP you get after leaving might be nice. Also, maybe change quitters spartans to the default on for a certain period of time, to make it personal.

That is unfortunate I had the same issue awhile back had to switch my Nat type to open and it resolved the problem I never get disconnected anymore. Either way if you are dnfing on purpose or by accident you are still leaving your team in a vulnerable position and ruining the experience for others.
