Tier Reward Unlock Failed + weird chat delay HELP

No matter what I do, I always get “tier reward unlock failed” when i try to unlock something and it just shows up some time after
Every text chat message I try to send is delayed by about a minute
Actual multiplayer works fine, little to no lag, i get everyone elses messages on time (but they dont get mine)
Whats causing these? How do I fix them? Already tried verifying file integrity and logging out/logging back in, hasnt helped

Help

I’m having the exact same issue.
Before the Season 6 update it used to linger on the “unlocking your tier reward” until popping up with the message saying the tier reward unlock failed and throwing me back into the Options & Career menu, but it would actually unlock the item.
Now after the Season 6 update, I get the same message as before, but it wont actually unlock anything.

I’ve tried restarting the game, verifying game files on Steam and running as admin as well, but to no avail.
Would be nice if there was a solution / the problem would get fixed soon.

As this appears to be an issue with your game, we recommend heading over to https://aka.ms/HaloSupport for further assistance. Please review the latest known issues and submit a ticket if your issue is not listed.

Thanks!

I’m struggling with this, too. I sent in a ticket 2 weeks ago and all they said was basically “tough. We’ll tell you if we figure anything out.”

Very, very strange. Unplugging my Ethernet cord and then connecting to 5G Wi-Fi solved the issue.

I’m having the exact same issue. I’ve reached out to support and they said they aren’t sure of the cause. I’ve also uninstalled and reinstalled, verified game files, reset my modem, updated Windows, etc. nothing had resolved it. Had no issues before Season 6

… Getting an entirely new computer had solved the problem for me. I had to get a replacement PC after my old one was torched by a power surge and the tier system worked on this PC. Same ethernet cord, same router, same internet connection, same firewall setup, same everything.

Switching to Wi-Fi and unplugging my Ethernet had solved the issue on my old PC, but the same Ethernet cord with the same connection works just fine on this one.

I can’t for the life of me even begin to understand what is causing this to happen, but it’s reassuring that i’m not the only one who experienced it.

For anyone having this issue, try switching to a Wi-Fi connection instead of an Ethernet connection and see if that helps. It was my workaround back when I still had the issue.
