Thx 343

Was in the middle of doing regret on legendary solo at the boss battle and it forces an update. I lost all my progress towards the mission

There’s no way of 343 knwing exactly when the update is going to pop up on your system, no matter how much notice they give. It’s unfortunate this happened to you, but if you want to be annoyed at anyone be annoyed at Microsoft and their implementation of content updates through their OS. It would be nice if they allowed you to save what you were currently doing and then exit before updating, rather than just kicking you out.

It would’ve been nice if it asked if i’d like to save the game before making me update but it seems like it’s either too complicated to implement something like that into the game or they just don’t see the need in doing so.

i never recieved said update :open_mouth:

Think i might go visit xbox uservoice and see if anyone has made that suggestion, if not I’m going to post it up. Always annoyed me on the 360, trying to watch something or play a game, then blam kicked off live, update required. Hopefully it’s not too complicated to implement

If your xbox was off when it was released and you have instant on / auto-install updates enabled, then you probably already have it. If not, quit everything to the dashboard, hold the power button for 8 to 10 secs until it switches off, wait 10 secs, switch back on and load up MCC. It should offer you the update after that.

PLENTY of games wait til the end of a match before informing/forcing an update…
