thunderstorms ...

I want to be in a huge thunder enviroment in this halo i know it’s hard for developers to make rain and such realistic. but it would be sweet what do you think ?

This and some dust and blizzard effects, this could also help cut down on long LOS and would also help with making forge maps seem more unique.

yeah i love weather storms and such.

It would also help with the apparent long range weapon spam thus promoting movement to find people or at least get a good shot on them.

I always like maps with something in it like storms and dynamic maps. Makes the map more interesting instead of it being plane and boring.

That and something else that would be awesome. A system to create ponds or waterfalls and such, like you get a little bucket, or different sized stream shapes that have water flowing in them so if you want to remake a map like battle creek you can put a little stream in the middle.

A huge thunder storm and rain on heaven would have been really cool!! But yes I would absolutely love such weather types being implemented, rain on the visor and the sound of rain hitting it

Yeah they should of had some sort of effect on Haven.

A firefight map would be incredible for this as well, especially if 343i includes “Silenced” weapons (campaign and spops/firefight only that would have only cosmetic changes to multiplayer) that don’t automatically alert enemies.

Walking through a thunderstorm in dark blue or black armor with a silenced magnum? Would be absolutely fantastic.

An awesome Forge idea as well, and I’d love to see some dev maps include these kinds of dynamic enviroments.

100% agree! Weather effects would definitely help in making a map unique.

Perhaps a blizzard map? This sort of map would encourage more close quarter fights as vision wouldn’t be as good, due to all the snow.

100% agree to this idea.

Imagine trying to sneak up to a camp full of the covenant with a Sniper Rifle and using the thunders noise to kill the elites so it wouldn’t seem like a gun shot and it wouldn’t alert the covenant.

That would be fantastic.

Also it would be AWESOME for forge.

Absolutely brilliant idea, take notes 343.

Could you imagine being in the heart of the storm like that it would be intense, through flashes it would light up things in the background like forerunner structures and if you flew out to far with jet pack you could get struck and maybe even have chain lightning of someone was following

I’d love a Mombasa streets-esque mission where the rain drips down your visor

http://youtu.be/R9DqsQ07wPw?t=7m34s. Such a beautiful game. Then again, Crytek is absolutely unparalleled in graphics. Nevertheless, that should be Halo 5’s goal.

OP, i have to say, I would love to have the option to change the environment/weather in Forge. Especially thunderstorms, and blizzards. Can imagine the gametypes for them, and the machinima’s. I also want to see a day and night option.

no offense, but this is halo, not crytek…

Halo has never been about amazing graphics and weather conditions… in campaign, sure, but its not really needed for War games, I’d rather have them focus on good map design…

what if we had realistic thunder, lightning and storms. Maybe during a match in an out door are a storm will come rolling across, or maybe you’ll even start a map with one, and then it will go away. Also, what if the thunder was realistic, lets say you have lightning 2 miles away, then it should take it 10 seconds for the tunder to hit, lots of times I’ve seen thunder in games or movies, the lightning is far away but the thunder comes right after it. I’d also like to see rain along with thunder clouds. On top of every else, I’d like other weather effect like; snowing/blizzards, wind, light/heavy rain, and maybe if it’s windy, then there will be waves in water. Tell me what you think

It helps with good map design limiting LOSs and adds certain unique features on the maps that could add into the maps gameplay.

This would be really awesome! Its possible that they were hinting this in the trailer with the giant sandstorms.

That type of weather is what i always want to see in halo in like campaign only areas.
