Thumbstick deadzones are too large!!!

Does anyone else feel this?!?? I’m having a difficult time aiming due to the huge deadzone on the thumbsticks. I’m using a Scuf, and for every other game, the reticle movement is spot on. In Halo 5, if feels like there’s a delay. I’m playing on a BENQ monitor so I know it’s not screen lag. The response time feels like I’m playing on a 50 inch tv.

That being said, the elite has an option to adjust this. Could they have made it larger to require an elite controller for the same aiming feel in MCC?

i had to jump back on MCC just to make sure I wasn’t crazy, and the difference is very noticeable.

I agree, apparently the Elite has a Huge deadzone but some other controllers do not so not sure what the cause is

Holy crap, I’m glad it’s not just me noticing this. It is so bad. No, this is not a controller issue. It’s a setting in the code. Some games have it to where you can custom adjust the deadzone settings. Forza and GTA 5, off the top of my head. Yes, this needs to be fixed ASAP. I go from playing MCC to this and it’s just unplayable. Please, 343, fix this to ZERO deadzone or allow us to customize the amount. Why on earth would they mess with this setting?

I thought it was just me, but I had been playing Halo 4 for the past week and noticed that aiming was kinda hard compared to MCC

The deadzone in aiming sensitivity, is the area that you can move the analog stick and the game won’t read it as an input.

In this game, move the right stick ever so slightly and notice that it doesn’t register on screen. It means that you have to move the stick a considerable amount until the game registers it as an input. As a comparison, put MCC in and choose any game, and try it for yourself. It is really noticeable in this game and the aiming doesn’t feel good at all right now, no matter what sensitivity. Sensitivity doesn’t change the size of the deadzone from what I can tell.

Same issue I can hardly aim…frustrating as crap.

I thought it was overly-sensitive and that was what was making my aim fly all over the place…are you sure it’s the dead zone? I never thought of that…hmm.

okay I thought it was just me I thought to myself I may even need a new set of taller kontrol freaks or something but I’ve noticed I need to keep my aim on by strafing more with my left stick than using my right stick

I can’t aim for -Yoink- in this game compared to any other Halo. Doubt it will keep my attention long.

I think the problem is the lack of aim assist my experience with the beta was bad at first I died so much. I had my sensitivity up to the max and it still felt off but now I’m use to it.

Bumping this because the deadzone is starting to piss me off.

Is 343 planning to fix any of this? I’m not playing anymore until they do.

Josh Holmes responded to the issue on teambeyond.net and basically said “get used to it”. I’m bummed. They can mess with whatever they want, just don’t touch the aiming mechanic that EVERY Halo fan is used to. I really hope they fix it.

This crap is so annoying. I thought they were supposed to use the beta tips for the final build. Nobody said crab about issues aiming in the beta and now they’ve gone and screwed it all up? What the hell 343?

I noticed this as well but I thought it was just my internet connection all this time. I was wondering what was going on.

All I know is it feels like I’m dragging my aim through mud. Turning it up to 10 didn’t even help. It just feels like I can’t make minute adjustments. And at onyx rank it just isn’t fun

-inputs must be repeated (don’t carry over) when clambering or boosting
-no social playlists, no variety.
-aiming acceleration has deadzones, making it terrible and very notice. Aiming diagonally is slower than aiming side to side and aiming up is even slower. The -Yoink-.
-radar needs to be increased or just removed. It baits people into a false sense of security. We move twice as fast yet the radar is half the size.nice.
-taking away scoring in campaign, limiting custom game options. A general rule for sequels: don’t remove previous positive steps forward that are simple to carry over.
-warzone especially atk/def is poorly organized
-removing customization options (shoulders, etc). yet again, lame af.
-not being able to sprint whilst being shot. Extremely lame
-the time it takes to die in legendary is stupidly low
-weapon timers. The timers are way way too low. Securing a railgun can guarantee that you can control that whole side of the map until it respawns. Since and repeat. (railgun is also quite op)
-and not launching with forge and more maps. Stop. Releasing. Unfinished. Products. Don’t be surprised when halo 5 is abandoned. So disappointed with your “pro team.” Being worse than Halo 4 is saying a lot.
-Campaign was disgraceful as a whole. (What did you guys work on during the 11 month delay since the beta? The multiplayer is noticeably worse since then (aiming not working and radar)).
-Lying about the number of missions? (saying there are 15 and adding 3 walk around missions simply to be able to lie about it)Unless these things are addressed nearly immediately, the population will disappear rapidly. It is already happening. And deservingly so. MCC was a nightmare and yet some key mistakes (aiming acceleration and deadzones) are being repeated. Out of my 8 friends that I play with, all dislike the game. Two have traded it on. The reset were playing different games today. They abandoned it hoping it may be fixed in the future.the lack of talent and common sense stemming from 343 is impossible to ignore. Certainly the last time I am support them if these issues are not addressed right away.
-booting/banning people for killing teammates after the game has ended? Nice
-spawning outside of the map
-unable to calculate KDA? Nice. I have just over a 2.0 yet it displays as a 10. Messing up an excel spreadsheet is unacceptable
-no medal chest at the end of games? K
-did the marketing directions never play the game?

    -over inflating ranks. So many subpar players are getting played super highly. Take a note from league of legends. Start them low and let them climb.
    -beat downs lunging but not hitting?
    -friendly AI are atrocious. Stopping two feet infront of you, not reviving, barely participating in fights, etc
    -rarity of armors, etc does not show after unlock.
    -story writing was just painful. Both dialogue and story.

Would this be helped by using the stick extenders?

Probably to simulate the feel of lower aim assist instead of actually lowering it. I know the aim assist is low but by giving the movements huge dead zones makes it even harder to use. #wewantskillgap #343logic
