Theres been a lot of discussion regarding the Master Chiefs thruster pack seen in the Halo 4 teaser. Now people say every spartan has them. But i havnt read a book with spartans who are wearing Mark 6, or the armor varient that chief is wearing (which may still be mark 6?). Last i recal, (minor Ghost of onyx spoiler), when Kurt, and i forget which other spartans were with him, were investigating some abandoned space staion, they had to equipt eva thruster packs. so that statement may not be entirey true.
I’m pretty sure Frankie confirmed it, but thrusters have been on the spartan in every Halo game. The Halo 3 trailer had a spartan sprinting but we didn’t see sprint in Halo 3.
Very true…
Even so, the books arnt 100% accurate to the Halo Universe. Its been established a long time ago that Spartans had thrusters for micro-gravity.

Halo Reach had Jump Jets but they were for the Jet pack. Though i suppose Noble six used thrusters when he was coming back into orbit.

Yeah, I’ve learned with Halo games, that it’s best not to trust any thing showed in a CG trailer, Yeah, it’s the only thing we’ve seen, and it’s a trailer, but this isn’t any other game, this is Halo, I’ve seen just about every Halo trailer so far, we’ve had 2 CG trailers, a few Live Action, but mostly game play trailers. Trailers that show off in game graphics are the trailers are the ones that you look at every last little thing in the trailer, and figure out what it is, and what it means. Where as CG, there are things that may not end up in the game, or is wrong all together, I’ve seen a video where a guy saw a reflection on a screen, and said it looked like a video being replayed of a Halo Ring, to me, it looked like a reflection of the ceiling with a light ring, because it’s a CG trailer, every thing looks realistic.
Will the thrusters be in game, maybe, but for all we know, that CG trailer may end up being the only time we see those in action.
But if there is one thing I want to point out, some of the theories/suggestions to give thrusters use in game for extra boost for jumping, are thought up by people who either get jetpacks and thrusters confused all the time, or are thick and don’t understand what a personal thruster pack is used for.
And Ciaran Reynolds, I don’t think Noble Six had thrusters for his suit, his armor tho, similar, is different from the spartan 2 armor.
Kurt shouldn’t be used as an example. He was using the Mark IV armour. All the games have featured either the Mark V or VI. John was wearing Mark VI when he disappeared. It’s entirely possible that thruster packs were built into the later models.

wasn’t Kurt’s armor SPI?
if Mark IV have it why cant Mark V or Mark VI remenber V and VIs should be more technologically advance than IVs

Yes, but in the end.

He wore Mark IV when he went missing in 2531. He switched to SPI after training the Spartan IIIs.

You misunderstand me. Mark IV required the use of T-Pack, it didn’t have a built in Thruster Pack. It is likely that the later models (Mark V and VI) had built in thrusters.
If it is canon, then I hope that the built in thruster pack is something used for emergency situations and not just something you can burn off for a really long time.
Every SPARTAN does have one, at least the later models. Halsey’s journal claims Mark VI had Null gravity assist package. These thrusters are apparently for null gravity maneuvering. So it only makes sense that Mark VII has them.
It also says that it will have:
-
Next gen fusion-plasma hybrid technology
-
Atmospheric insertion systems
-
Slipspace de-insertion capability
-
Active AI transfer protocols (Cortana jumps from chiefs helmet to computers?)
-
Limited shaping of energy shields [overlaps, airfolds etc]
Also, apparently she gives the “Vice Admiral” (i think its Cole) the 14 existing variations of MJOLNIR.
She wrote this in January 2535.
