I can’t read these forums for too long lest my I.Q drops to room temperature, but from what I noticed: we all seem okay with thruster pack doing nothing but rapidly switching my camera to 3rd person and back to first.
Sup with thruster pack? Surely people don’t accept that it’s slower than walking? I’m not asking for flood thrusters, just some way to evade the GTA auto-aim in this game.
Yohoiwhat happened to my forge? Pieces move and jank about after saves, making my works of art look like the hurled feces on the wall in the ape pen. I’m diggin’ the shadows and the scenery but we went from stupid limits on objects and all gray pieces to stupid limits on objects and all white pieces. This object move after save is some Halo 3 problem nostalgia!
I can’t zoom-in in forge for precise adjustment control. I can’t click my left thumb-stick for precise anything, and when I select large object, I’m uncontrollably vaulted at an unnecessary minimum distance for whatever object I grabbed. I was that close for a reason bro, It’s hard to see where my coliseum wall meets with my smaller objects when I’m 120 meters away; staring at huge bright white wall.
Bridges are now a hefty sum wider then blocks. Blocks being detrimental to general geometry creation. Used in combination now leads to excessive overlapping. Certain popular decorative pieces are now even wider yet, further skewing the precision needed for budget efficient forging.
Coupled with way too intricate, detailed blocks, phantom moving objects after save; inconsistent objects sizes, clumsy and almost unusable controls and the lack of freedom of forgeworld - with only the awesome object shadow rendering a plus ~ I posit that forge mode has taken a step backwards from Reach. I reckon I’ll see a lot less competition for attention when It comes time for my map to be posted.
P.S Also, not being un-scoped when hit takes the chess match fun out of gun fights.
P.S.S Valhalla is not designed for DMR and Light Rifles. Single shot sniper starting weapons I feel is the worst damn thing done to halo multiplayer.
In my opinion you are absolutely golden on the last p.s.s. I miss the fast up close/mid range combat in Halo 3 with the snipers being the general only long range weapons, the dmr turned halo multiplayer into a shadow of its former self

I am also butthurt by these things.
Seriously though you’ve summed up to the letter everything I feel is wrong with forge. The only gripe I would add is that the pre made structures, like the base on Impact and the tower on Erosion, aren’t centered to 90*. It’s a HUGE pain in the -Yoink- to incorporate them when you have to build your entire map at a 3* angle. But I still love it and will spend WAY too much time tinkering with it. Magnets, cloning, and locking are SUPER useful. If they had just added those three things and kept the rest EXACTLY like Reach, I’d have been thrilled.
I highlighted that last part, because it’s gonna be a whole lot easier to get recognition for my badass maps when the fileshares open and are filled with haggard wannabes.
