thruster pack sucks

what is the point of the thruster pack in multiplayer it flings you two feet and thats about it??? what the point in using it??? fix this please

It’s so good in flood, but not other playlists :S

I would imagine 343 gets that the Thruster Pack sucks by now.

It would be nice if they would make it a tad more useful. To be completely honest, right now it’s darn near pathetic. :=(

It does suck…badly. 3rd person view is also dumb.

Mid air turning is one use for it. You’re probably going to get mad at me for saying this but, you likely aren’t using it correctly. You thrust relative to your speed, that’s why Flood gives you more distance with it.

It works just fine to me. Is better than Evade because you have to be precise to run out of a hard situation instead of just touching a button like evade.

Also, is useful when you have to board vehicles. IMO, is one of the best armor abilities on Halo 4.

Oh I’ve use it correctly. I don’t know why you’re apologizing for it in it’s current state, but here’s a thought. If you’re that good at it now… imagine what you would be pulling with it if it was beefed up.

It’s for fighting alongside cover and dodging quickly when you use shields.

As well as to throw off opponents in melee fights.

Use it correctly and for its intended use. Don’t blame the game. Improve yourself.

Whether or not you are using it correctly is irrelevant to whether or not it is balanced properly. As of right now it is not balanced properly with the Jetpack, which is why you see so few people using Thrusters. You can shoot while Jetpacking. You cant shoot while Thrusting, and it throws you into a dizzying 3rd person view which often times disorients you. Jetpack can be used both offensively or defensively, whereas in its current iteration the Thruster is relegated to a purely defensive role (and no, being able to use it offensively against a complete scrub doesn’t make it offensive).

its actually pretty good. you guys are just using it wrong. your not suppose to use it going forward . your suppose to use it going side to side, moving away from grenade, rockets, and sticky detonator. and dodging bullets on 1 on 1

Giving it more distance wouldn’t necessarily make it better as these guys are trying to say, would just make it more defensive. Never found the 3rd person perspective disorienting honestly

I agree, which is why I’d suggest removing the 3rd person aspect to it (which is the way they had it in an earlier version of the game). Although adding a bit more distance to the thrust itself would also help, when you consider that the range on the Jetpack is far grater than the range on the Thruster.

Whatever that sound great but you know what, it’s not fun. That’s its problem, no matter what you cite about breaking for cover and all the other tried and true apologists talking points it’s straight up boring and generally useless compared to the other AAs in being enjoyable. Even the Auto Turrent has more advantages in both a long term or short term engagement compared to the Thruster Pack in it’s current form in both Spartan Ops and the MP playlists save Flood.

You’ve made up your mind, as so have I. Only I have to live with the boredom.

Speed and distance needs to Increase when you use Thruster Pack. It feels much faster in Spartan Ops and Campaign IMO.

I honestly would like to keep the 3rd person perspective, a little useful when thrusting in any direction other than forward.

Yup. it does suck horribly in other games that are not Flood mode. I don’t know wtf 343 was thinking.

Works great for me, I think it’s more situational than anything.

its best on haven and solace. you can thrust right before going on the lift and go straight to the other side of the map or onto the snipe tower. and on haven you can thrust when you go on the lift and change direction. and thrusting when falling down lets you shoot quicker then just sprinting off an edge
