From the gameplay I have seen, the Thruster pack doesn’t look very useful. The entrance into 3rd person view, and lack of covered distance makes it almost underpowered. My favorite AA in Reach is EASILY Evade, and when used skillfully, is the best with no doubt in my mind.
The switch to 3rd person view is mainly the thing that bothers me. Now, when both of our shields are down in a 1v1, I can’t evade in and out of cover to surprise him and cause him to miss, so I can get my headshot. I can’t just simply evade and shoot straight out. It just makes it to where it takes time to switch views, which actually gives a large advantage to the player withOUT Thruster Pack.
The lack of distance just makes it a little weaker overall at its job, not a huge issue for me, but definitely an issue.
seriously I dont know what they were thinking with the 3rd person, view it is not even a cool gimmick ,it is just annoying! In the E3 build there was no 3rd person view I don’t know why they putted that, it is useless and that is really bothering me.

I like it! I’ve seen a guy absolutely destroying the others on regicide with that AA. Can’t find the video though. xD
If you don’t like it, don’t use it. I will.
I agree with what most people are saying about the 3rd person switch. It ruins the AA’s effectiveness, and also just looks weird, because you’re literally only being launched forward for what, a second?
It balances the AA. In Reach, Evade is just not meant for Spartans. It’s meant for Elites. Spartans are too small to be rolling forward so fast like that and it’s really just annoying.
That said, it’s really not overpowered compared to the others though…

Gotta spend that limited edition money somehow.
This is Microsoft we are talking about. I’m not sure what the currency conversion is for Australia, but Microsoft wraps their sandwiches in $40,000.
> Well it’s supposedly to Really evaluate the distance covered, something like that I believe.
It looked good when it was in first person. Now that you’re brought into third person and shown how far you went, it just feels all the more disappointing.
