From the gameplay I’ve seen, it looks like it moves you about two steps in any direction, which is just about no help at all. Once that’s done you wait for a recharge. That’s not the final build is it? It looked much better at E3.
You wil regret your words when i will “Out-strafe” you with my Thruster pack =)
No idea, but I agree, it seemed to be very, very lackluster.

better under powered where it wont bother anyone while been patched than over powered
Weird, I liked the look of it.
I’m going to use it to jump farther, since you can use it in mid air. (i think)
Its a a one time use evade that might save you from an incoming rocket or sword sprint.
It does look a bit UP. From what I have seen they either need to make it lunge further or add 2 jumps.
With the Explosive mod on, it utilizes your opponent’s grenades, useless if you use the Thruster right. Plus, it utilizes your opponents Melees as useless.
It seems like it will be great to confuse an enemy or get closer to them, sort of like evade, but not as powerful.
An example of where it can be used is when a player using an Assault Rifle is facing somebody who has a Battle Rifle at medium range. Instead of trying to take out the BR player at that range, and possibly lose, they can use the Thruster Pack to bring themselves closer in and take them out in their weapon range.
Its all personal preferance you may think its pointless but others don’t if you think its pointless don’t use it.
Lol it’s more than two steps, and don’t be complaining when a thruster pack out of a splatter or off a nade. It will be good for closing a needed gap as well.
In an Arena setting, like MLG, I can see the Thruster being a deciding factor in a 1v1 precision weapon battle.
It only looks good as a last-ditch effort to win a close-up fight. You don’t really travel fast or far enough for it to be worth anything else.
I really doubt it will be useful for grenades. It looks like it won’t move you far enough to resist a small amount of damage.
It just doesn’t look like it does enough compared to the other armor abilities. I mean camo, you get to have it for like a full minute. A jetpack can take you more places than anything. A regen field regenerates. Everything else just sounds so much stronger.
I rather liked it, actually. I found myself using it more than any other ability - especially in Regicide. It’s a quick way to get behind someone for a quick assassination or get out of the way of a frag thrown at your feet.

Exactly Imagine this both of you are firing at each other. Both gets to one-shot. He shoots, you strafe to the left with the thruster pack and he misses then you shoot and bam you win.
Welcome to the forums. Coming from a person who played at RTX and PAX i cn tell you atleast IMO its very helpful. Dodge rockets vehicles Stray sniper rifle or beam rifle shots etc.
Its not really an ability thats to aid you greatly in combat. More of an ability to help you dodge some pretty close calls.
I dunno, out of all the new AAs the thrusterpack is the only one I like and look forward to using.
So for the TP is useful enough for the few moments I intend to use it for the style of gameplay I’d choose that loadout for. I’d prefer it to go farther, just slightly, if held. A tap takes us normal, a held down takes us about 30-50% farther (at least).
The TPV to reduce CQB effectiveness is annouying but liveable, the not so attractive varied use of it… Like I say, it’s a specific loadout I want.
