Thruster Pack Cooldown Discussion

I want to make a series of discussions about every thing exclusive to Halo 5 and give 343 an idea of what we want but nobody usually comments on my stuff, probably because they are too long so I will give my initial opinions. I have already made a Ground Pound one that has few peoples opinion, mainly just me and another arguing about certain aspects so go check that out and show your opinion on that.

I don’t have a problem with thruster pack, it is the focal point of Halo 5 and I can understand why its in the game. Possibly, could I have your opinion on the bad and good parts of Thruster Pack? It helps escape combat much easier and is way faster than sprint— is usually the argument. I still don’t have a problem with it as long as its not like COD: AW where there is little to no cool-down. In my opinion, they should raise the cool-down on thruster pack because 4s simply isn’t enough. I watched Halo-fest game play of Halo 5 and it seems everyone was just boosting around. Possibly 6-10 seconds? It seems like a small change but doubling the cool-down will really balance it I feel. I really have to play Halo 5 too truly know how many seconds will need to be added.

Please give your opinion in the comments to show 343i what they want in a organized matter. I want people to argue with me that way I can perfect the paragraph above^^^ Thanks!

I would have to agree that the cool-down for Thruster does need to be increased, I kinda feel personally that 6 or 7 seconds would be enough. As it is now I think if you boost into a bad situation the 4 seconds isn’t enough to punish you, yes it would be likely you die if indeed a bad situation but I believe you could juke just enough for thruster to be up again to possibly get you out. I would prefer more thought is needed before deciding whether you use the ability or not, and not just haplessly use it just because its off c-d.

Nothing wrong with the thruster cooldown, it’s the thruster hit detection that’s the issue. Been playing the beta and everytime I thrust away the enemy just shoots the spot I was at prior to thrusting and it still deals damage to me, similar to the bunny-hop issue in Battlefield 3.
