EDIT: I think they should make the jumps further and faster, and make the recharges shorter. It needs a buff.

Although I’d suggest changing the animation for when you’re going forward/up a hill, looks quite bad.
I think it is better first person… it’s kinda like… WOAH da ****s goin on, then first person again
i think its pointless to zoom out and in again that quickly…it was much better in first person
I would prefer first person, but 3rd does have a cool animation!
This was confirmed a few days after the first gameplays came out, the change was made on a version that existed as the first public build was being shown.
It’s gimped as hell now, the burst itself is shorter, it used to last for at least 2 seconds, and was much faster.
The initial change was to make it 3rd person, which I felt was clunky and rendered it relatively useless. Then this change, wherein you move slower than walking speed and zoom out only to zoom in, disorienting the user.
I didn’t think there was anything wrong with the fast, long, and first person version.
It also increases the effectiveness of the AA by giving you a brief glance around corners and over ledges as well as behind you
I think it was confirmed at SDCC. Going in third person makes it look like the Thruster Pack barely moved you, though.
What role does a 2 step long burst that disallows you from aiming, shooting, meleeing, or anything, that takes 6 SECONDS to recharge play in the sandbox?
This gives you a relative disadvantage to anyone using any other AA.
I want the first version back.
Can anyone actually think of a practical use for a so-called THRUSTER PACK that does not operate as one? I can only think grenades, which are perfectly avoidable on foot given a grenade indicator and the fact that you move fairly fast now.

What if they made the jumps quicker and further, and the recharges shorter? I agree they need to increase it’s effectiveness but don’t change it back to 1st person, it’s better as third person imo.

I agree, it’s something I’d definitely be disoriented by. It may work with certain non-mobile AA’s like AL in Reach, and Regen in 4…but it just looks weird with thruster…
This armour ability should ideally be a cooler replacement for Halo Reach’s Evade

I agree it needs a major buff, although keep it 3rd person.
