3 shot someone and watch them thrust to safety, so skillful
Finally someone that creates a topic on this.
100% agree. And its especially worse on high level.
I really lost interest in playing this beta because of this. Its not fun that you cant finish someone because he made a bad move. Nope he will thrust away and gets help from his team mates etc…
The Thruster problem really comes into light with BR Starts.

I have to agree.

So, okay i’ll just stand there and let you kill me…how skillful are you then…?
I’m surprised you think your fourth shot would even register lol. It is basically the same as the removing sprint argument. Maybe the thrusters are the one that needs to go. But either way, the combination of both are causing problems. Not a lot of skill required when you know you can boost to safety and run when shields are down.

So you would chase for the kill?
I can live with thrust. It’s not that bad.
thought this the moment I played the beta, went back to halo 3 and kept getting myself killed cause I would charge straight out and realize I’d made a bad move and try to thruster back in, but I would just switch grenades XD way to easy to stay alive in H5

your aim’s obviously is where the skill’s lacking.
Go play with pros and then tell us how thruster pack is awful and useless
I wrote a review earlier on this but with focus more on sprint. Maybe it should of been on thrusters. Here is a snapshot of what I wrote before regarding this:
- Slower game play. Now that shots weren’t registering right, people can now more easily run away. Team play and call outs were now of the extreme importance. Games are now won or loss solely based on team play. It doesn’t matter if you are Walshy, you are not lone wolfing it anymore. Even if you can get the chance of a 1v1, as soon as someone’s shields drop or they got caught in a bad position, they will boost and run for cover, unless you happen to be in very close combat. Because the last shot isn’t registering anymore, they are able to run away and recover most the time. Which leads to…- Remove running from the game. Maybe it won’t be an issue once shots are registering again, but from the reason I listed above, running away is ruining the game. By removing the run, you will now be required to out shoot, strafe/juke, or beat down your opponent. This will bring the skill gap back to a decent size and will make the game more fun to watch and play. Watching people constantly run away to recover shields is not good TV. You will of course still be able to try and find cover, but it won’t be as easy. You normally don’t chase for kills either in Halo, so the argument that both players have sprint doesn’t really work. The boosters however are another thing. I suppose you will still be able to use them to find cover more quickly, and that may be another topic, but first thing would be to remove the run and try from there.

God stop being so naive. You are probably one of this kids that couldnt defend himself in old Halos and needs help to run away from battles…
This is not Halo, and has nothing to do with skill.
This future Halo 5 tournaments will be so fun watch…not
Thrust is the only Spartan ability that I kinda like. It’s just the sprint/thrust combo that’s horrible. But I won’t miss it if it’s removed.
You know if they have no cover the trust was pointless right?
3 shot someone they strafe to safety how skillfull was that?
Is holding left on the stick more skilkful than pressing a button at the right time?
Thrust is fine just needs an eight second cooldown.

I still hate every person who says sprint and thrusters ruin skill gap because you can run away. Chase them, and if they kill you even though you have full shields and they have none because sprint prevents them from recharging, then the game doesn’t have to change, your skill has to improve. Throw a grenade or sprint after them, I have done this countless times and have either gotten the kill or have been killed. And you still can overcommit to a fight as sprinting, once again, does not allow shield recharge, so usually fighting it out is your only option unless you choose to run and die. Also teamwork is a major part of halo multiplayer, so if a damaged player baits you into running into a room full of his teammates, I suggest you look at your radar and back off, rather than chasing you for the kill just to be slaughtered by the teammates. They outsmarted you or you missed shots, so regroup and get ready for the next engagement.

Moving ruins this game.
3 shot someone and watch them move to safety, so skillful.

You don’t chase for kills in Halo. You just lost map control trying to get one kill. It is the frequency that is the problem. It will happen that the opponent escapes or tries a bait and switch, but how often that happens is much greater with the use of sprint and thrusters.
Thruster has a 4 second cooldown, you need to burn their ability and then take advantage.

No, you have to chase me…I won’t move amuscle…I’d let my shields recharge…fight another day…

He is saying the opposite. It’s too useful. It IS a constant get out of jail card. My early prediction is that this will be the feature to drive players away.
