In this video, you can see that the player obtains the oddball after a team mate threw it at him. He didn’t drop it and have the other guy pick it up, he literally hurled that thing a number of feet. (Note: this is footage we’ve already seen. It’s just in higher quality.)
This gets me interested. It could add a whole new dynamic to oddball. Imagine teams throwing it at each other in order to prevent the other team from getting it. It adds a keep-away element into oddball, whereas it used to be to simply grab it and hide. I feel that this could be an extremely awesome addition to oddball, and I can’t wait to get more details on it and actually try it when the game launches.
On a side note, anyone else think the oddball looks awesome?

This seems like it will be a nice edition to oddball. I do have a feeling not everybody will like this edition though.
I think people get confused with Oddball and Headhunters
Oddball is trying to hold the ball as long as you can to earn points, so it balances out
If it’s in headhunter it’s about getting as many balls to a certain area so it wouldn’t play well but I think they are smart enough
> In past Halo games, if you knew how, it’s very easy to throw the Oddball or Bomb. That’s all that I saw in the video, not a new mechanic of some kind.
I don’t know, it looked like he chucked that thing. Definitely not like in past games, where you’d sort of drop it over a long distance.

I saw the player look up and jump before the Oddball was thrown. To me, it looked like chucking the ball. However, I could easily be wrong

As could I. We’ll just have to wait and see, won’t we
Seriously though, I thought I saw that the first time I saw that part of the video but wasn’t completely sure. That is an AWESOME mechanic! Imagine if something like that could be incorporated into Assault?!
