Throwing the ball out of the map.

Well, this isn’t a huge problem, though it’s stilla very annoying one. I’m not going to come on here and whine and rage, but provide a solution and hopefully get a little feedback.

What if - Near major points int he map where the ball could be thrown off, there would be an oddball station and would automatically spawn there, instead of a random location. Like, on each of the corners on Adrift, or the cliff at Abandon. If you tossed the ball over, it would automatically spawn at the nearest point.

Well, the random point makes the game more interesting. If the ball resets, and there’s a specific reset point for each section of the map, then people would just be juggling between the reset point and the boundaries of the map.

That’d make the game a bit more one sided in my opinion.

What if:

if a Player threw the ball of a cliff, the ball would be thrown back to the player that threw it off, and said player will be killed instantly, and loose 200 points?

if the player moved his/her position, the ball would home onto the player

if an enemy gets between the ball and the player, the enemy catches the ball

if a teammate gets between them, the ball phases though them, and continues going for the initial player

:stuck_out_tongue:

Hm - good point. Though in most instances the reason the ball is thrown off is because a position can’t be held. It’s a last ditch. For it to be that one sided, a team would have to hold off the point nearest to the ledge, which would defeat the purpose of even having to jump off.

Right, but coordinating the defense of that reset point in that last ditch scenario is very easy. Since most of the enemy players are chasing the ball down, it wouldn’t be hard for the team to get the ball back.

People take the Oddball out of bounds on Snowbound in Halo 3 and have the turrets guard it. Oddball exploiting ain’t anything new. If it isn’t fixed by now, it probably won’t ever be fixed.

“Very easy” on paper

If it were that easy, they wouldn’t have to throw it off in the first place. The team assaulting would already know where the ball is going to be placed.

It would be no different than how the rest of the game is normally played, the enemy dies, the ball gets dropped by their body.
