Throwing the ball in game types with a ball.

I’ve searched around and found many threads confirming you can do this, which is useless to me because I’ve actually seen ball passing on action. The question I want to ask is: how do you throw the ball? For the life of me I can’t find anything detailing how to do this anywhere,

Same way you throw a grenade.

I’ve also seen people throw the ball at enemies so they pick it up and then shoot those enemies while they were shocked and defenseless.

Quite a useful tactic.
