Throwback maps for Super Fiesta gotta go

Please rotate these out. Super Fiesta has become a mess of spawn killing, AFKs, and a barrage of getting ganged up on… I still get a kick out of Plaza , Torque, and some of the original maps, but I end up pulling my hair out at the ridiculousness of playing on these remakes. As a solution, and to keep it fresh, my suggestion would be to explore some of fan-made maps that could be better suited for Super Fiesta. There’s a decent contingency of them.

I think the maps play fine in fiesta. No problems at all.

Some like Rat Race works fine but others are just terrible in my opinion.

AFK Players and getting double-teamed aren’t affected by the maps, so rotating out the remakes won’t help you there.

The only map I have a problem with is the hang em high map. Snipers Paradise for sure. You spawn with a shotgun and boltshot and you’re in for some fun!

I detest the portals in those maps. They make for excellent spawn traps.

I love those maps in fiesta.

I quite like the old maps it but the portals are definietly spawn traps but it lets the more original halo fans get their fix from playing something new but still classic. If it’s such a problem people should be able to change their map prefences in their setting or something.

They’re absolutely dreadful, especially if your attacker has a OHK weapon (Energy Sword, Shotgun/Scattershot, etc.)

Initially that was true but people seem to be getting a lot smarter in that map when they lack a long range weapon now, which I like.

Most play fine apart from hang them high . I always seem to get short range weapons such as shotguns and swords where as the other team had a norfang dying star end games and other long range weapons . Always get absolutely destroyed on this map unless I get a sniper . Such a shame as this was my favourite map way back when.

It’s been really hit or miss with me and that map, but I agree with the sniper paradise part. I have a hard time finding my footing in the Battle Creek remake, someone spawns with a Tartarus’ Gavel and the match is basically over.

They just made the OG Halo games backwards compatible, and dare I mention that MCC still exists, so maybe 343i could try to stock up these social playlists on Halo 5 with maps built for Halo 5’s mechanics. Battle Creek and Hang Em’ High are the worst offender for maps not made for Halo 5, and it shows.

yeah but if you think of it its keeping more OG players on Halo 5, I’m not saying i don’t like the halo 5 maps, in fact i like them better. maybe there needs to be a completely new social playlist or monthly playlist for the OG maps on any game mode or something, idk.

Yeah… no. Maps like hang em high have a bias towards snipers and bad spawns. They just have to go.

I believe something that should be taken into consdieration should be the availibility of escape routes. I forget the name of the map ( currently removed from the rotation) that was a bit of a sniper’s heaven. There were three distinct sniper towers, all spaced out in a triangulated manner. However, no one really could feel safe because for each tower, there were multiple access routes to said towers. If someone was pinning you down, you could just try another direction.

A lot of these throwback maps are either linear, or filled with choke points. For instance, if one team spawns with long-rage weapons on Damnation, and they plug up the correct lanes, there is no ‘sneaky’ way to get across the map with a sword and a hammer. The portal maps , while a bit fun, encourage camping. Which is nice for little kids, but it can get a bit stale…in a hurry. I love those maps for the throwback playlist, and they really gel well…for throwback game types. If they ever do a refresh on the rotation for Super FIesta, I would like to see at least a few maps that aren’t just hallways and shooting lanes. If we can make 'em work for a shot, then let us make 'em work a little harder.

Was it Orion 2? Not sure if that map is still in the rotation or not.

Indeed! Not my all-time favorite map, but it added some complimentary variety, IMO.

They should rotate in more old maps, like Prisoner or Countdown.

Also Action Sack needs some new game modes.
