Alternate costumes have been a feature in video games for a long time.
Edit: and as someone mentioned before, theatre mode was added to Halo in the same game that armor customization first was, I like taking screenshots of custom sets in action, to represent different characters and classes, mainly to use as backgrounds.

You might not give a krap about custimization (i only give a little krap, not enough to pay for it though) but other people do and other people love to custimize their soartan/sangheili and express themselves. People love that, just like custimizing a car (except a heck of a lot cheaper). It may be practically useless but that has never stopped anyone. Stop trying to convince people of what they know and accept and Donât care about. They donât care that it has no practical use, they just want to look cool and different.
Why do you have to change what they like so they can be like you?
I want to be able to use different elite models in H2C, H2C Honor Guard in MP would be so cool, or ultra even.

Just ignore this guy. Dirty_Nurse replies to every single armor thread with this same mindset and attempts to derail the actual topic. We are apparently not allowed to have fun in a Video Game, just because it doesnât have any gameplay benefit.
To everyone: I recommend Flagging every single comment like Dirty_Nurseâs. Itâs off-topic and borderline gate-keeping. If you donât have something to add to the original topic, donât post it. Dirty_Nurse has an opinion, and we should respect that, but he also refuses to elaborate on why his opinion so important to the topic at hand. He refuses to listen to anyone else, and would rather every single thread be an echo-chamber.
To Dirty_Nurse: Yes, we know, for the love of the Prophets, we know that Armor Customization adds no gameplay value. Just like Character Skins add nothing to Fortnightâs gameplay; Just like Weapon skins add nothing to CoDâs gameplay. If you donât think any more armors should be added to the game, tell us WHY it would be a detriment to the game. If you donât like it, just donât use it.
I donât play fortnight or CoD so I know nothing about those games. All I know is that the armor here in this game is completely useless and does not affect gameplay at all. When fellow forum members inquire about it for any reason I simply let them know that it serves no purpose so they donât suffer from FOMO. No matter what armor a player chooses it will not have any impact upon their gaming experience in any way. Iâm sorry for stating the truth I guess?
Fair enough. But, you also have realize the way you utilize words in your post can have unintended meaning behind them. I donât know you, or anything about you. All I have to work with is text on a screen with your username attached. So, when every one of your comments are undermining and dissmissive, I canât help but think that you just donât like the armor system, so everyone else canât like it either.
I understand what you are saying, you donât want kids to be suckered into a system that has no gameplay value. But, when everyone is already saying: âwe knowâ and âwe like it for different reasonsâ, but you continue to repeat the same thing, we canât help but feel that you are either very dense, or a troll. (Especially on a post that already has the word âCosmeticâ in the titleâŚ)
But anyway, no harm, no foul, but we should get back to the original point of this topic. I agree that the Cosmetic Elite Armor should get added to MCC. Especially the Arbiterâs, I really want his chestplate.

Also be able to customize a bit more the elite in H:R would be cool too. And customize guns colors in H:R. (in FF to find back your shotgun after choose an other loadout helps very well this is told mix the useful with the pleasant

One thing in particular I would love to see on Reach would be the ability to choose each Elite Armor piece individually for Elites, just like they patched-in for Halo2: Anniversary.
If they ever added Arbiter armor I would love it was an achievement based armor. Like Hayabusa.
Agreed, but I donât think we would ever get anymore armor tied to Achievments, unfortunately. The closest thing would be to make the unlock tied to a Seasonal Challenge, like the Bug-Splattered Buck and Injured Romeo skins.

None of that would actually do anything - your gameplay experience would be the same regardless. The various âarmorâ - contrary to the definition of the word - does nothing at all and is completely useless. Just ignore it and search whatever playlists you enjoy
Its not our fault that your useless brain was not able to comprehend that whatever you unlock in reach is cosmetic
and do all of the halo community a favour and never reply to any forum even related to the cosmetics as your brain cant even grasp the fact that all of us want our spartans/elites to look pretty and grinding for our cosmetic and unlocking and equipping them is accomplishment.
Of course, the more choices, the better. I really want those classic styles and accessories to create different effects.
I even want to customize the skin patterns of the elites and the color of their eyes.
I hope to see a three-dimensional, playable original sangheili character.

So youâre saying I canât respond to any forum at all, even completely unrelated forums for other games? You must really despise me for my logical and completely factual posts here on this particular forum about how all of whatever any player manages to unlock is completely useless.
When I post here Iâm just being honest. I play almost daily and have not wasted my time unlocking anything at all other than whatever useless things happen to become available through my normal play.
Do I win every game? No. Do I get perfections every game? Certainly not - I die as easily as anyone else. Iâm simply smart enough to realize that any armor/visor color/attachment/whateverotheruselessunlockableisavailable will not help me at all. Itâs important to let players - especially new ones - know this so they donât feel as if they are at some kind of disadvantage.
I would love to see that! Also, the Counselor and Ranger armor from Halo 2. Iâm glad that more people are addressing their concerns about Eliteâs lackluster customization, maybe 343 will listen to us again.
