Three Elite Cosmetics I Hope Get Added in 2022

When it comes down to it we cannot deny that out of the Spartan and Elites multiplayer models, the Spartans have been receiving most of the attention with the Elites being treated more or less as an afterthought.

Now, these three cosmetics I wish for are all Elite related:

  • The armour of the Arbiter (this has been heavily requested since 343i started to add cosmetics).

  • Halo 2’s Elite Honour Guard armour (while I would prefer this to be added to Halo 2: Classic, I’d have no qualms about it being added to Halo 3).

  • Rtas 'Vadum Combat helmet.

Let me explain that last one a bit. If you don’t already know, in Halo 3: ODST there are variants of Buck and Romeo you can (or could) unlock: Bug Splattered for Buck and Blood Splattered for Romeo, which don’t really change a lot other than adding bits of Drone on Buck and, well, blood smears on Romeo. The most important thing to note here is that they’re variants, as previously stated.

Rtas 'Vadum’s (Half-Jaw/Shipmaster) Combat helmet could be a variation of the basic Elite Combat helmet with the multiplayer model having two mandibles missing.

I’d love to see these three modified for Multiplayer as well, alongside some of the back pieces from Halo 2 like the Ranger jets or the Heretic wings. (maybe even the Heretic Grunt’s methane tanks)

I’m also wanting to just see the remaining H:O Elite Armor sets get ported over as well, since the majority of those sets were quite nice and the Elites are still quite far behind the Spartans in 3.

The Ranger’s jets would make a very nice back accessory indeed. I had forgotten about those completely

What do you propose those would do? Currently none of the armor does anything at all, if something were to be added it would have to serve some sort of purpose - otherwise it would be as useless as all of the other armor

Well, seeing as they’re cosmetics, they would change the way the multiplayer models looked. I would have thought you’d have grasped that concept by now seeing as you’re repeatedly posting the same thing in almost every thread that even hints at a player being able to change something.

YES YES ONE THOUSAND TIMES YES!

I would love to be runnign around as the Arbiter or a Honor Gaurd.

Something else for elites is to add inter-piece customization for reach

Okay, but what would they do? I’m not sure you’re understanding me. What benefit would a player have by using a different armor piece? Armor, by definition, shields the user from damage. As far as I can tell the “armor” here does no such thing.

I understood your comment perfectly fine and answered it in reasonable fashion. Cosmetics don’t have to do anything, they’re there to make your Spartan/Elite look unique among a sea of players. If you want perks then go and play Battlefield or Call of Duty. You couldn’t convince anybody 2 years ago, and you’re not going to convince anybody now. Yes, the armour is, by definition, useless. That doesn’t make it not fun, though.

I’d love this. If they finally add Arbiter’s armour I might play as an Elite sometimes tbh.

I play exclusively elite when i can and I would love to play get Arby’s armor or be able to look like half-jaw! Hell they could have multiple version of Arby between 2/3/5 to pick from.

Another thing I’d love to see is be able equip back items. Unless they have stated somewhere already that its not possible I’d love to finally play as Arby in MP with a katana on my back!

My dino boys really deserve more than what they’ve gotten compared to the Spartans so far, Especially now that they’re being left in the dust again for Infinite.

Back accessories, techsuits, and visor colors for helmets like Assault, Flight, and Ascetic would be nice.
Not to mention more of the armor sets from Halo Online (though the secondary/tertiary paint jobs should still be fixed like the Spartans were).
But now that anvil station is canon Swords of Sangheilios and Spartans are canonically training together in war games, elites deserve some of their own stuff/ tech crossover.

If they do add anymore of the H:O sets, they absolutely need to add Cleric first as a fix, since it was the set the correct waist armor for all the other H:O legs was stored on. It also might fix the lack of tertiary color since i believe that waist had some spots on it intended for another color aside from primary.

There is no reason to change how a multiplayer spartan looks if said changes don’t actually do anything. Last time I checked, when I play this game, no armor is even visible on-screen. If it has no defensive capabilities as the word armor would imply, what good is it?

Yes, there is. To express yourself, to show off what you unlocked. I didn’t spend all that time getting the Halo 3 Vidmaster achievements or the Mongoose Mowdown achievement just to wear the default Mark VI. You can bet I’m going to wear said armour I unlocked to show off my accomplishments. And I can guarantee those who unlocked Recon before the Vidmaster’s got spammed with messages after a match.

I assure you, nobody cares what armo”u”r you are using in-game - they’re simply trying to kill you before you kill them. I sadly admit, at first I thought that the various armor unlocks were going to help me. This turned out to be not the case and completely nullified any positive effect of ranking up. As I said in a different post…no armor is even visible during gameplay and since whatever pieces you happen to select have no outcome on the result of the game, it all has no purpose.

Absolutely fanatical tbh.
Did you know that nothing in video games is real and doesn’t actually matter? You’ve been told a number of times why people like armour in Halo, and you’ve also been told why it should not affect your stats.
Did you also know other English speaking countries than the United States exist, where “armour” is generally spelled with a U?

There’s nothing to like about armo”u”r. None of it - contrary to the definition of the word - does anything at all to protect the player at all whatsoever. Moreso, said player can not even see the “benefit” of whatever “armor” they wasted their earned their in-game assets on-screen. Am I missing something?

If Halo had it’s own broad RPG esque singleplayer experiences, the armors would have a reason to change things, but they’re just made for multiplayer character visual personalization, and adding stat changes to them for nothing’s sake would actively detract from the PvP experience.
I will say however a third person option for at least custom games and campaign is long overdue.
Halo was a third person shooter before it was first.

I agree, to a point. The only way any of the various currently-useless “armor” would even remotely be useful is to have it appear on-screen at some point. For example, I currently have 368 blue/yellow cube things. I just clicked on “the exchange”…what benefit would I get from getting the mythic armor bundle?
