I strongly believe that topics on Armor Abilities, Bloom, and the Ranking System should not be allowed in the Halo 4 forum.
It’s essentially fans complaining about Halo: Reach in the Halo 4 forum.
These topics have created some of the most heated debates on the forum.
As far as I can tell, these topics should only be allowed if these features are confirmed in Halo 4. That way people can discuss something Halo 4 related.
I’m not saying to banish these topics form the forums all together, just form the Halo 4 forum.
Then why have you made threads on bloom? If you think it shouldn’t be allowed.
Attempting to restrict topics like those will never work, its hard enough just getting people to speak respectfully and without bypassing the profanity filter.
telling reach complainers not to complain is like telling grass not to grow.
> Attempting to restrict topics like those will never work, its hard enough just getting people to speak respectfully and without bypassing the profanity filter.
This is very true. The only way you can stop it from happening is if you went in the future saw when it was posted and stop them from posting it
Well bs angel or somebody needs to do something about it. Start off with something in the bulletin about how these topics will no longer be allowed in that forum. If any of these topics are posted they will be deleted by the moderator, or moved to the Reach forum.
Yeah but no. Why restrict such topics from being threads in the Halo 4 section? Reach is the game that comes before Halo 4, each user has a right to post their thoughts on things such as bloom, AAs and such. Even if it means they are against such things, they still have a right to share their views. I don’t condone flaming but at the same time mentioning Reach and it’s game mechanics is relevant to Halo 4 as such things might be tweaked, removed and so forth.
If flaming gets out of hand, mods will do their jobs and do the editing/locking. That’s all they should do, not make restrictions on topics. That’s just going to piss people off. I like the rule “play nice or get banned” and the mods usually do their job just fine :P.
This suggestion is just awful OP. What’s wrong with you?
They can still suggest their views in the Reach forum, since that’s what they’re complaining about.
Can we just understand that reach wasn’t a Godly game but its up there at the top.
> Can we just understand that reach wasn’t a Godly game but its up there at the top.
It’s a good game. The campaign was nowhere near as good as the others. That’s my opinion. But I want the Halo 4 forum to be about Halo 4! Not “Things I didn’t like about Reach forum.”
I left the Bungie forums because that’s all they were. Now it seems those people decided to come here.
The Waypoint people can’t ignore this. This is a problem. It should be considered spam at this point.
Now let’s say that Bloom and Armor Abilities are in Halo 4. When the game comes out, THEN players should be allowed to talk about them because then that will pertain to the subject of the forum.
The problem comes more from the threads that try to say 100% yes or 100% no, which leads to people picking sides rather than trying to find an agreeable solution. and very few people want to read really long threads, or search through pages of threads just to look for a thread that fits what they want to say. The main problem isn’t the number of threads posted, but how constructive those posts are in terms of discussion. there are also many threads on firefight or forge, but nobody complains about those, because they are discussed rather than argued about.

Well there is summarily deleting post with subject matter not approved =/ but that would be counter to everything a forum is intended to be.

You have yet to answer me. Why have you made threads on them, if your so against the thought of people making these types of threads?
What the hell would you even discuss? You already have absolutely no Halo 4 info to talk about and now you want to throw out the only subject matter worth discussing?
And I remember when they said a few weeks back that there were no problem with duplicate threads lol
Seems like every 5 threads I read is the same one I just left 5 threads ago, with a new name but the same old rant

Is this your first day on the internet? Have you never been on a video game forum before? People are obviously going to voice what they want and don’t want.

Why do you want to limit discussion? Not liking complaints isn’t a valid reason for limiting discussion in my opinion. These topics are perfectly fine for discussion in the Halo 4 forum.
If you are tired of complaints, I would recommend staying away from those topics.
Yet you make a thread about them all…
And then you start complaining about complainers.
What really needs to be done is harsher thread merging. People constantly make threads with the same topics as others on the front page of the forums, these need to be merged.
